Idyllic setting with shaded areas and lots of things to do nearby- the library is right across the street, I spend a significant amount of time here. There is a nice gazebo, limited parking, almost 100% local visitors, very chill and mellow spot with events going on all the time on the weekends. It's well patrolled and safe, there are not a lot of homeless people on Coronado so the usual issues with nice parks are not as prevalent in Coronado- you can't smoke anyplace on the island in public so that's a huge plus and a deterrent, obviously. It's the quintessential stroller park if you have little ones, and it's clean, the facilities and well maintained. By the way, metered parking on island in most cases is 25 cents, so you will not have to pay much, if you find a spot - If you are looking for a chill spot in Coronado as a base while walking around, look no further- it's near the high school and the Performing Arts Center, so it gets busy on the surface streets during drop off and...

Something north of 1,000 people of all ages attended -- the park was packed! At all times, 100 to 200 people were dancing on the lawn in front of the stage. The children's playground was packed with, wait for it, children and nary a screen in site!
You can always understand when people are enjoying themselves, because...
Read moreThis park has been around since 1927, and while the playground equipment is at least 10-15 years old, it is well maintained. The green grass surrounding it hosts many public events throughout the year, from small family affairs to public concerts. Several trees throughout the park make larger sports pursuits impractical, but the shade provided by them is perfect for picnics. The bathroom facilities are easily accessible at the edge of the park, and it's a five minute walk to several cafe's and eating options. Whether you're a local or on vacation, this park is a...
