Honestly, I expected a little better~ NOISY~ I know it’s cheap, but it’s an expensive for a reason. Being in Coronado, this is like the worst spot to put an Inn. **The Busiest intersection!! Very noisy neighbors upstairs, maybe thin walls. The only good thing about it was the bathroom was clean and remodeled and not as tiny as the bedroom. •••The bed is on a metal cot not even on a bedframe. 😅Not that we really cared because it was not uncomfortable. But you get what you pay for. You can honestly hear everything if you’re on the bottom floor. The street is VERY loud because it’s the one coming in from the bridge And it doesn’t stop until late and it starts early in the morning. Another thing we noticed was the checking in. We walked to the Inn w our stuff only to read the sign that said, walk back to the office at the yellow building to check in. So that was inconvenient. But I understand they don’t have the people to check in at both places. Room has only the necessities. Dont expect good coffee. Does have a mini fridge. (Sidenote, it didn’t help that we picked up burgers from the Burger lounge, and they left a bread clip in the middle of my chicken sandwich. I nearly choked! What the hell! Prob never going there again.) I called and they didn’t seem to care much.

I didn’t realize that Coronado Inn had a split location across the street called the Island Inn. It’s nice. Just what you need with a microwave and fridge. I tell you that part because I didn’t realize I could’ve brought microwaveable snacks. The village is very pedestrian friendly. Lots to see and do. Get your steps in and check out the unique homes in the area. Champagne dreams. Lol. Then take the ferry boat to Sam Diego.

Service was unprofessional. Room was nasty, broken hair dryer, flys and bugs on ground. People see through the street level window because the blinds are too far out/broken into your room. The door isn’t sealed at all so you hear everything on the street at night. You can also hear the people walking above you. 0/10 bed of nails would be better.

The way they treat military customers/families is disgraceful!!! Go elsewhere!!! Rude staff!

Coronado has a slew of hotels with accommodating staff except for this hotel. We booked a hotel through a 3rd party who accidentally booked Coronado Island Inn. We never stayed at this hotel, had proof of our booking elsewhere due to this error so we wanted a refund.

We contacted the 3rd party booking site and they kept giving us the run around by saying we needed a cancellation letter from this hotel. Then they said Coronado Island Inn needed to authorize the refund. We needed a letter from Coronado Island stating both the refund was authorized and that we never stayed at this hotel.

We called the Coronado Island Inn for 4 days in a row. We spoke to Reyna then Cheryl. We kept getting responses that they are busy. Who isn’t busy? Horrible response. Then we were told no manager was available on the weekend. Yet another red flag! Do you want to stay at a hotel that has no manger or no one in charge on the weekends or after hours? That doesn’t sound like a reputable hotel to me. And by the way this is a tiny hotel it’s not the Del Coronado so you’d think they would prioritize this. We kept getting the same answer “ We sent it.” But they never sent us a copy like THEY said they would.

Come to find out, the Coronado Island Inn was too concerned about being charged a commission so they stalled on their response to the 3rd party site. Keep in mind, we never stayed at this hotel AND we have a receipt of where we were currently staying to prove we never arrived or intended to stay at the Coronado Island Inn.

We spoke to Cheryl again on day 4 and come to find out that she wouldn’t send us proof of any letters or correspondence with the 3rd party booking agency because she said it shows their rates. The 3rd party booking site kept saying they didn’t receive proof that a refund by this hotel was approved. When I asked Cheryl why she couldn’t just send us a letter without rates, this “lady” hung up on us. We were not rude. We just don’t understand why a letter can’t be sent to us like SHE stated she would.

We tried calling back but the hotel didn’t answer. Unprofessional Inconsiderate Rude Unresponsive Disreputable

We are a military family disabled through service and this is how they treat us. How...

While the rooms were mostly comfortable, my friend and I had a very disappointing experience at the Coronado Island Inn. We stayed with them twice during a nine-day visit in two different rooms, and each time there were small things in each room that could have been better attended to (lights that flickered off, broken outlets, etc). They also gave us a parking spot without notifying us there was a fee for parking (we only noticed when the bill came). ||||The worst part, though, was when we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room at 5am, no one was in the office to help us and no one answered the on-call number, which led to me missing my 8am flight back home. We tried to reach the after-hours staff repeatedly and eventually ended up going to the Best Western Plus across the street for help. The extremely kind gentleman at their front desk, Esteban, was so supportive. He repeatedly called the Inn's on-call and office number until someone finally answered when they came in for the 8am morning shift, he offered us a place to sit and rest in their lobby, free breakfast, and told us we weren't the first people to come over and ask for help because the Coronado Island Inn's staff wasn't available after hours. We were locked out for almost three hours, never got ahold of their after-hours staff, and I missed my flight. ||||After arriving back home on a rebooked flight, I wrote to the Inn, told them what happened, and asked them to refund us for the last two nights of our stay (which still wouldn't make up for the cost of my rebooked flight). Instead, they refunded us the parking fees (which they didn't tell us about), $30, and offered us 25% off a future stay, which we will not be using. It was extremely disappointing considering I wouldn't have missed my flight if someone would have answered the after-hours phone. ||||We won't be staying with them again but if you do, beware that there might not be anyone available if you need help...

Here are the notable aspects: The property boasts a superb location centrally situated on Coronado Island, mere blocks from the San Diego ferry, Coronado Beach, and the Naval Base. It offers convenient access to nearby shops and dining. The staff exhibited a welcoming and accommodating demeanor, complemented by the thoughtful amenity of complimentary bike rentals. Regrettably, several shortcomings eclipse these positives. The rooms are notably outdated, unclean, and permeated with a mildew odor. Cobwebs, dust, and mold are prevalent throughout. The windows are soiled to the extent of obstructing views, and some blinds are non-functional. The kitchen suite is inadequately stocked with an assortment of mismatched dishes and sparse silverware. Washing dishes is hindered by lukewarm water, contrasting with excessively hot water in the bathroom. Towel provision is insufficient for guests. Electrical outlets are haphazardly placed, some non-functional, and none of the smoke detectors were operational. The room's main entrance door window allows intrusive traffic light and noise, although the air conditioning unit's noise level effectively masks external sounds—an ironic positive note! As echoed in previous reviews, the adage "you get what you pay for" holds true. However, the property's pricing might appear inflated elsewhere. Overall, the experience was passable, yet future visits to Coronado warrant consideration of alternative accommodations, even if...
