Ocean Walk Shoppes — Attraction in Daytona Beach

These shoppes are absolutely amazing......I have been in this area for at least 30 years and personally have witnessed so many many changes in the course of that time....however.....Daytona Beach always and I mean always keeps these shoppes safe, clean and absolutely amazing......it is one of the cleanest shopping, family friendly retail area in the immediate vicinity......it is connected to the Bandshell and Boardwalk along the Atlantic Ocean......There is a parking garage which links these shoppes to the Ocean Walk shoppes where you can literally walk over Atlantic Avenue (A1A) and see the entire Atlantic Avenue for miles....it's literally breathtaking...There are 3 levels to these stores, wide open and airy....The top level, the highest one has now mostly been acquired by Wyndham Hotels, so they have made that level (since Hurricane Nicole and Ian in 11/2022) the Crystal Ballroom level....you will see where the "movie theater" used to be....(it's still there) only now, it is literally associated with the Crystal Ballroom.......they take wedding videos and post them....IT IS BEAUTIFUL....if you plan on getting married.....check it...

We were surprised at how many people were outside the shops smoking right at door entrances. It was extremely uncomfortable for those with asthma and those that simply do not like the smell or effects of secondhand smoke. It would be fantastic for management to have smoking parameters of a lot further away than the store entrances in the confined walkways if that is an option. The stores and areas are not what they used to be. There was a great deal of littering and loitering. While trying to enjoy an outdoor meal during a business meeting, we were approached three times asking for money. People also sitting in walkways leading from one store to the next.

It was great to see that renovations were being done to improve the area. I love the Google review forum that allows us to share views of our experiences to promote improvements. I do realize there are things out of managements control, but there are also little things that can be addressed that will make a huge difference. We used to enjoy our time there when in the area and some of the nicer shops that have...

The place did not live up to the hype that the hotel's beach channel made it out to be. Hardly any stores worth visiting. Touristy items mainly, if that's what you're looking for. $10 to park in the parking garage is WAY too much! There isn't even enough stuff to keep you busy for an hour there, much less all day! The web says it was open at 10:00, but in reality, only 1 store was open at 10:00. The rest apparently did not open until 11:00, as some employees coming in to work at the restaurants told me. You couldn't even get into the bathroom at 10:00. I might have stayed if I could have at least used a restroom. There were several good looking restaurants here, but at 10:00, I didn't need any food yet. The shopping is severely lacking here. Better to head to Volusia Mall or they Tanger Outlet Center. Don't waste...
