Academy Sports + Outdoors — Attraction in Flowood

Had been my go to store for all things hunting, fishing, outdoor supplies, shoes, boots, clothes,ammunition etc! Since the store was built in flowood! Countless amounts of money, time, ive invested throughout the years, including lots of high ticket items! Mostly satisfied through this time until may 25th, stopped by with kids to buy them a few summer outfits, would up with more than expected, that's OK, decent sale price, and advertising from the front entrance, 3 kayak"s placed there with a sale sign of $169.99! Wow, I'd like to get all three? Made my way back to hunting counter to be sure about the price and to buy a few more items, the newer guy was busy, and understanding but the no good sob that has been working there for many years was just sorta standing around looking lost, I ask for some ammo, he retrieved it, I had a double arm full of clothing also to check out, I ask about the pricing on the kayak, he says no, ? I said we'll that sign might need taking down to avoid the confusion for the customer? Naw, your wrong, took pictures of with cell, showing him, naw that's for the cheap metal rack they are sitting on? We'll it's actually attached to the kayak sir! I'm just trying to someone some trouble including you employed here! He said you don't read it good? What? There faded small print that was barely visible and waterlogged was stating for the rack? The rack could be woth much, and why, it went to him obviously lying, trying to make someone else foolish in front of others that were close by, he clearly could care less, then the attempt he half made at checking you out was purposely and intentionally lengthy, cause 2 pairs of the same exact shorts same logo brand, and price where attached together with only one tag stating the price @ 50% off plus buy and get one free. I guess he didn't care for that price? I offered to take all the items to the front to check out, cause he clearly wasn't interested in helping no one, then told me I had to check out there I said hell with box of ammo, ill just take the clothes and get scanned up front, ive been quite long enough with you bs! On May 27th , 2024 , a cashier named Stacy , check me out at Academy Sports in Flowood Mississippi, and signed me up for a credit card without my consent. As I walked up to the cash register she proceeded to asked me “did you want to save 15 dollars today all I have to do is scan your identification card ?“. I asked was it a credit card or anything I was signing up for , she responds and says no , once she scanned my identification card , the payment terminal immediately asked for my last four digits of my social security number, I immediately said No !!! Cancel this I am not signing up for a credit card especially at academy I don’t shop here regularly. Stacy proceeded to take matters in her own hands and put in a fake social security number under my identity however , I am under the impression that she’s canceling out whatever she did , minutes after I checked out and left the store , credit karma immediately sends me a notification stating I have a hard inquiry on my credit report regarding the Comenity Bank Academy credit card , THAT I DID NOT APPLY FOR . I immediately head back to the store stating that I did not want the credit card and I asked for her manager, she stated that she was a manager but actually she was a team lead . So I finally got a hold of the manager and his name is Marcus. He deeply expressed how sorry he was and he wished he could take the hard inquiry off of my credit report, so all in all not only did I ask her multiples times was I signing up for a credit card , Stacy typed in the number “8989” as if that was my last four digits of my social security number and now I have an hard inquiry on my credit report. I went to Academy Sports in Flowood, MS to get a trampoline that was on sale and they had them in the isle. Ask sales clerk to help me get a box on a dolly and he went and got a dolly and when he got back with the dolly I reached to help him but trampoline on dolly and he said we will get it for me and he called for another sales associate to help and he said will be back in a minute and had to wait a few minutes. We went to front and paid for trampoline and as we went out side I said will go and get my truck and pull to the front door. That is when the trouble started and they went to back of truck and I lowered the tailgate and they stood the trampoline up at the back of the truck and just stood there and one associate just gave the trampoline a big push and it leaned over and hit my tail gate so hard the trampoline and tailgate bounced several inches. The trampoline was very heavy and the other associate just laughed at what happened the one that pushed the trampoline struggled to life the box and get on tailgate and the other associate just stood there and did not help lift the box. They deliberately tried to damage my truck and this truck is only 11 months old and they tried to damage my truck. Called manager and said it was very dark and would look in the morning to see If I had any damage. I told him if they did not want to work there need to find another job and he agreed with me.
