Malibu Jacks in Louisville Kentucky. Malibu Jacks is an indoor theme park that was built inside an old abandoned Walmart in 2019. The theme park has mini golf, go carts, arcade, huge kids area, lazer tag, bowling, restaurant/bar and even amusement park rides and a roller coaster. There is so much stuff to do here for the whole family.
As you enter through the doors. You are greeted with a huge statue of a rabbit on a surfboard. On your right have the front desk and prize area. You walk through the queue line and you are greeted by the staff members. Malibu Jacks has special deals throughout the week so make sure you ask about them. It’s a real simple process. You put money on a Malibu card and that is how much you have on the card for everything in the place beside the restaurant. Each game goes for $1 through $4 I believe and the attractions runs $5 through $10 each depending on the attractions.
You take your Malibu card and swipe the card on each game. Every time you win tickets. The tickets get added on the same card you are using. When you want to go on an attraction like go carts or lazer tag. Just swipe you card and the money will be taken out the amount that the attraction cost. So if the attraction is $8.00 then $8.00 will be taken off you Malibu card.
The arcade is in the center of the place and the attractions are surrounded the starve from around the arcade. It’s really easy to navigate through the place. The arcade has some old favorites arcade games and some new modern games. The arcade can get a little messy on busy days but it’s busy in a small area so it not too bad.
The attractions are great! They have everything from mini golf to a roller coaster. They have about 11 attractions (not including kids area) My favorite is the wave rider thrill ride. It’s a high speed thrill ride that goes in cycle like a roller coaster. It’s such a blast! The rest of the attractions are fun too. Definitely the VR, Zombyte is the best game. You fight zombies that run and come for you every way you look. It looks so real when you are playing the game. Make sure to checkout the other attractions too. Definitely the coaster they have called Twist-N-Shout. So much fun!
The food is like any other amusement park food in my opinion. Pizzas, burgers etc. It’s good and delicious but kinda pricey definitely if you are a big family. They do have Canes chicken across the street and other food places outside of Malibu Jacks. I do recommend going out somewhere else to eat unless you want to spend an arm and a leg for food. Outside food and drinks are not allowed in Malibu Jacks. So please remember that and food and drinks can’t go past the restaurant. They must stay in the restaurant area or bowling area.
Bowling and the bar area is a great addition. You can use your Malibu card to go bowling. You don’t have to pay unless you want to. You do have to buy shoes to bowl. The bowling area is not your typical bowling alley. The pins has strings on them so when you bowl the ball and hit the pins. Sometimes the pins get tangle or looks like it’s flying around. You have to ask the bowling attendant for help if it does. It’s a very unique bowling alley. They do have kids bowling dinosaurs available (helps kids bowl) They are the best for any small children. The bar is right next to the bowling alley. Anyone can drink if you are 21 and over. The drinks are average beer and alcohol. So whatever float your boat with drinking. They have it for you.
The employees are great. It’s mostly teenagers and adults. Sometimes you do see them on their phones or not paying attention while operating the rides which is kinda concerning in a way. Go carts are the most concerning for me! I just hope they put the best employees over there. Just my opinion!
The place is clean but the bathrooms can get really dirty on the weekends and the rides can be closed often. I would go on a weekday because weekends can be really busy! Definitely since all the birthday parties are going on with the regular guest coming through the...
Read moreEDIT: As promised I am editing my original review. My family and I went back because my son wanted to go for his 9th birthday. We went this past weekend 06.16.24 and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The staff were nicer, there seemed to be more games and more attractions were being attended to. We purchased the all-day pass for the older children because they mostly wanted the rides and we also purchased game cards for the smaller kids. EVERYONE HAD A BLAST! We were there for hours. My son's G-POPS came into town from Atlanta for his birthday and he was impressed with MALIBU JACK'S. The only negative G-POPS said is that the games cost so much BUT considering how much fun they had it wasn't really a big deal. We would like to see more games for smaller children but even that isn't a complaint because the bouncy park made up for it. The pizza is delicious! I can honestly say that we have NO complaints! Anything that went wrong was handled immediately! Whatever changed is good...no it's GREAT! Thank you Malibu Jack's!
A lot of the games and attractions were not working or there was no attendant there to work the ride. My children were asked to leave the bouncy park because a child vomited in one of the bouncy houses (which was totally understandable and NOT AT ALL MALIBU JACK'S FAULT). However, my children were then stuck on one of the rides for about 20 minutes because the power went out on the ride and they were unable to lock the cars to let the riders off. Only one basketball game was working so you couldn't play against someone else - which is what everyone wants to do. Many of the attendants either had very bad attitudes, were playing on their phones, or knew people there and were distracted by playing and talking to their friends/family. Just rude all the way around! It was just a complete mess! We've been coming to Malibu Jack's for a while and we're seeing it go downhill right before our eyes. We used to love it but now I'm pretty sure we won't be back for a while. We left without letting our kids purchase anything with the tickets on their game cards. It was just so frustrating and exhausting that everyone - including the kids - was...
Read moreWe had the best time. We were not local and traveled about 3 hours to Malibu Jack’s Louisville location. We were a party of 8. 5 adults and 3 kiddos. There was something for everyone to do and the kiddos enjoyed all areas especially the beach bounce area. We were so busy we didn’t even get to do it all and we spent roughly 6 hours there. We got an all day pass,we were there for 3 1/2 hours left went to dinner and came back for another 2 1/2 hours more. The only thing we felt was an issue was the area to cash in your tickets, we scanned our game play card for ticket amounts and it was different from what was actually on the card. The items for small amount of tickets were okay. However we felt our choices were limited because many of the bins were empty. Other than that the staff was friendly and getting through lines for passes and activity areas was easy and reasonable in the expected timeframe. The beach bounce area was great for little kids and safe as little kids could not exit or enter without a parent. The downside was later in the evening there were older kids that were not being monitored by parents and many were being a little ornery!! I felt that it would be nice to see staff monitoring these areas as well just for safety reasons for all the little kids running around with parents just sitting around paying no mind to what was going on. There was a staff member assisting with entering and exiting and they were unable to leave that post. Make sure your little ones have socks on as this area does require you to be shoeless, our little ones all had socks on but depending on the season you attend. Also, arcade area requires a game pass that is separate from the all day or 3 hour pass. Another tip your child has to be 4 in order to do any of the ride attractions such as gokarts, bumper cars, and the roller coaster. The facility was also very clean even the restroom, they also had a diaper changing table available in at least the women’s restroom. The parking area was large and offered...
