STAY AWAY! THIS PLACE IS A $*%# HOLE!
All of the reviews below are completely true: management here is deplorable, lacking, and incompetent. The staff is rude, useless, inept, and they do not know their own procedures or rules. (especially the operations manager Jason)
Make sure you get the names of the personnel, so LA Fitness will know who the s**tbags are.
Call them out by name.
Jason, the incompetent operations manager is among the most inept, incompetent, unprofessional, and has one of the most disgusting personalities I have had the displeasure of meeting.
When I went in to cancel my membership, Jason said "you didn't have to come in, you can call in or cancel online."
I then reiterated that when I called LA Fitness, his own staff told me I had to come in and cancel personally with a manager.
He then said I was lying, and that there's "no way he can be certain such a phone call took place."
When I informed him the complete lack of professionalism and disrespect from the staff is the reason I cannot come to LA Fitness anymore, he replied "are they not scanning your card or something??!"
I had just come from a funeral for a fellow service member, so I wasn't going to argue or let him provoke me. I just accepted him for the piece of s**t he is, and got my membership cancelled like I planned.
Other military personnel I've spoken with have similar experiences with disrespect, dishonesty, and poor customer service from Jason W and the female african-american troll who scans members' bar codes.
Initially, I thought this particular LA Fitness was vehemently anti-military, but then another manager (who works at another LA Fitness) admitted they have had numerous complaints for poor and disrespectful service.
The poor service at this facility includes unsanitary gym equipment (rarely cleaned down) and a restroom/shower that reeks as though it hasn't been cleaned in 9 months. (Way to run things Jason W.)
For all considering membership here, I can only say stay away; go to another gym, go to 24 Hr Fitness, go wherever; but do not come here.
DO NOT COME HERE AND...
Read moreBLUF: After comparing it to a couple of local LA Fitness I am adding one star extra. The below comments are still in place however , this LA FITNESS has a gym crowd and layout that places it above the rest.
I will go ahead and give you a quick run-down of how this gym is currently operating during COVID-19 and how I have observed the gym is run. I signed up online, which was reasonably straightforward, and they waived the initiation fee, which was nice. Once I walked into the gym, my first impression was what do the staff do here?. Apart from being extremely nice, the staff was not present through the gym to check the members for compliance with COVID-19 rules; After several visits, you can see weights lying around, members not wearing masks in the weight area and machines not being wiped by members due to the staff's complacency. The gym's appearance is generally clean. The last few visits have been in the morning, and the gym has not been overly crowded. Their little self-serve fridge wishes it had more options as it is mostly empty and not refilled regularly. Although equipment sanitizing wipes are available everywhere, hand sanitizer is absent like a father fetching cigarettes' in the middle of the night. There is a handful of hand sanitizer boxes (3 count with a staff member), and it does not seem enough (considering the times we are in). Staff needs to be involved with the rules and enforce them; even once, I saw a member working out, observed a lady without her mask come in and work out, and never once addressed this to her. This gym is not the best, nor is the worse. I think they are doing okay during these times, but the lack of concern about the rules they praise at the corporate level...
Read moreToday, September, 15, 2025, I ended my membership at LA Fitness due to false information given to me when I signed up to this gym. When I originally joined LA Fitness, it was when the establishment first opened in Grand Prairie. During that time, I have always used the racketball court to work out in with no issues. I originally ended my membership due the gym having to shut down from plumbing issues from the Texas freeze of 2021. I rejoined LA Fitness, May 2025, due to the local 24 Hour gym closing. For four months since being back, I resumed using the racketball court to work out in. Prior to me rejoining this gym, I made sure to ask the associate if I may use the court just in case the rules have changed during my time away. The associate said it was fine, just reserve a court in the LA Fitness app, and put the equipment back when I was done. All of this, I have complied with no issues. For some reason today, this now has became an issue without any explanation provided. If your gym is going to “change the rules”, please do a better job with communicating. For example, when I originally asked in May, if me using the courts to workout in, with equipment, would be an issue, that should have been explained at that moment. Another example, is having a sign or any communication visible stating so, so “former”members like myself would know ahead of time, and not while being interrupted while I am working out. I am happy to be joining Crunch Fitness, and look forward to a long, wonderful relationship with them. Please do better with your communication. Communication is always key. Also, from what I read from previous reviews, this gym and staff are aware, they are not the best. Looking...
