Iām an avid shopper, from boutiques to Saks, and Iāve never encountered a worse return policy than Obsessionās. I rarely shop in Hammond unless necessary, typically sticking to Ruby or Dillardās. However, Ruby was closed, and out of necessity, I made a purchase at Obsession just before closing on February 7. Later, I found something I preferred at Dillardās and planned to return my purchase.
Unfortunately, Iāve been out of town for work for the past week, and when I went in today (February 27) to return the itemāsomething I only bought because I was rushed at closingāI was told that the 15-day return window had passed, making the item ineligible for return. A 15-day policy feels unreasonably short, especially for someone with a busy schedule. Getting back to a store within that timeframe can be difficult especially with the limited hours that obsession is even open.
Moving forward, Iāll be sticking with Ruby, where the owner is much more accommodating in situations like this. I wasnāt even asking for a refundāstore credit was fineābut the rigid policy and the dismissive attitude of the employee I spoke with made the experience even more frustrating. When I attempted to return a dress that had a rip I discovered after trying it on at home, I was accused of lying and wearing the dress, which was not true. The owner pointed out a tiny mark on the dress, claiming it was a food stain, even though it was easily removable. Considering the dress cost $88, the material quality did not justify the price. I only requested an exchange, but the owner immediately accused me of lying. This dress was intended for a funeral, and due to its poor quality, I had to purchase another dress the same day. I shopped in store on New Years Eve and my only issue is, the girls on the floor literally follow you the entire time and stand there while you look at every item . Right after you touch something on the clothing rack or shelf they come behind you and fix the shelf or the rack. I understand keeping the store looking beautiful but maybe wait till the customer is finished shopping or wait till end of day to reset. They are behind me perfectly spacing the hangers after I look through a rack and walk to the next to only follow me there is insane ! I was literally scared to touch...
