I had an incredibly unpleasant experience at Centre at Post Oak recently due to the behavior of one of the security guards. I arrived at the mall with the simple goal of shopping at Nordstrom Rack to buy a pair of shoes. However, I was stopped by a security guard who told me that I wasnât allowed to park because my car has Houston city limousine stickers. While I understand the mallâs policy regarding limo drivers, I was only there as a shopper, not on business.
What made the situation worse was the guardâs unprofessional and offensive behavior. He threatened to have my car towed and, shockingly, made a derogatory comment implying I was âacting like the black guy who doesnât have a brain.â I want to be clear that I reject this kind of language entirely. Such comments are harmful and unacceptable, and I would never think or act in a way that disrespects any human being based on their race.

While we were trying to figure out where the nearest one was (there wasn't a restroom available inside the store), two people walked in. The associate who was helping us, went to assist one of the newcomers and someone came out of the back to help the other shopper. Another associate was assigned to us, but AFTER the other two shoppers were assisted and she didn't really have a clue as to what was going on.
