Studio YNW — Attraction in Jim Thorpe

For both my husband and I, this place was a winner … and our taste is not the same. The artist does a few different “flavors” of art, although, if I recall correctly, there wasn’t anything abstract. In any case, I was moved to buy a piece, and my husband bought two. What made it so easy was that many of the pieces were available in multiple formats. For example, there were several original paintings and, for those of us of more modest means, there were gicleés, art prints, tapestries, cards, magnets (surprisingly nice), and even a few coasters of those originals. So, if you fall in love with a piece, you should be able to bring it into your life, regardless of budget. Hooray for making art accessible! Yes, you have to walk uphill a little to get there, but...

When you’re in Jim Thorpe, you must visit Studio YNW; Yvonne and her husband are both extremely friendly and welcoming, and Yvonne’s artwork is incredible! My visit to Studio YNW was indeed remarkable. I found many spectacular pieces of art that fit the spaces in my home beautifully from the very large to small. The artist was actually working in the gallery on a piece that was very unique and yet I had a real connection with what I saw. I was able to find a vast array of items from postcards, pillows, shopping bags all with the artist's works displayed on them.
