Stars and Stripes Forever — Attraction in Jim Thorpe

SCAMMING AND MISLEADING. I went in for a good carry knife, and was charged almost 3x the actual value. Do your research so you don’t get ripped off like I almost did. Most of the knives are easy to find online. It was a Smith & Wesson FDE 6.25in High Carbon S.S. Boot Knife, serial #1100072. (Check the serial #) I was charged $36 when in reality it is $13 on Amazon (with free shipping). Even the S&W website lists THEIR BLADE for $21.99, which frequently sells for $10.99 for sales. If “retail price” is $36, why is the ACTUAL company selling it for less than retail? I browsed other S&W knives that were under the same circumstance. The guy working was nice and friendly, but definitely seems like a con artist now. The military stuff is really cool though, but I’d do research on that too. Doesn’t feel good when someone says “My prices are pretty low/lower than anywhere else” and they end up trying to pull a fast one. The amount of “I’ll give you a deal/special offer/daily special” I heard is what prompted me to see if I was getting scammed, and I was. If the “high end” and “discounted” knives really were what they are said to be, why am I finding them for over 3x less elsewhere with mediocre reviews? Won’t be shopping here again....

What a great store! If you are into anything military, knives, or self-defense you need to visit this store. I was visiting Jim Thorpe and stumbled upon this store and loved it! The owner was there-he was super nice and easygoing, and he spent a lot of time with me answering all of my questions. One of the items I purchased was a stun gun and when I got back home to Florida, I discovered that it had a manufacturer defect and did not work. I contacted the owner and he responded in less than a day...he helped me troubleshoot the issue and then he promptly sent me a replacement. Fabulous customer service---I wish more business owners were this great! This store is a must-stop-and-check-it-out...

I'm giving the entire town of Jim Thorpe a -1. First time here just trying to park my car, and 2 yahoos come out, blocking my way, the 1 saying he's calling 911? Well I've got news for you- I already did, on account of you crazies blocking my vehicle with your bodies, when I'm just trying to park my car.

Not a moment I arrive, and this is my first experience.

My advice: Turn around, and don't look back. Go to another town...
