Göt Hair Midtown — Attraction in Kansas City

From a brunette that went blonde AND short in Erin's chair, and a recent owner of some more dimension in my blonde (easing into the back to brown transition) and some bangin curtain bangs;

I have been going to Erin for a FEW years now after a recommendation from a friend. She is the most personable, kind, warm, and welcoming soul with a wide array of knowledge and expertise in all things hair. As the owner of this establishment, she handles every detail with precision and grace whether it be my hair's highlights and all the ideas I ask for, questions from her fellow stylists, or business needs day in and day out! She works hard to make her space funky and colorful, yet relaxing and inviting, and I love coming back to see what new thing she's done this time. She's an amazing human with a talent that's unmatched!

She leads her pack well, with McKenna and Kat also being such boss queens! I never leave without a smile (and not to mention stunning hair) because these ladies CRACK me up! They all work hard to cultivate a silly and inviting atmosphere that gets the job done perfectly in such a fun way. McKenna has done my brother's hair a few times (perms, highlights, trims), and he's loved it from her as well! I always hear such crazy convos from her chair while I'm there, she's a hoot and a half.

The best example I have is not to show just how great my hair always looks, but how Erin offers silent sessions, where if you're not in the mood to chitty chat (I always am so I have never taken advantage of this) she will work through your hair and not require you to take part in the silly antics of the salon. It's a relaxing alternative that avoids the sometimes awkward small talk, and I feel is a perfect exhibition of how inviting the salon truly is.

I had a walk in, last minute appointment and was paired with STN yesterday.

First off I want to say about the space is so comfortable and inviting but also very whimsical and artsy which I appreciate. The gorgeous woman who welcomed me into the salon was also so sweet and made just me feel very welcome with a few words.

My hair has always been a point of contention for myself and he was able to quiet down my insecurities and also build me up about my what I thought was dying brittle balding head of hair. (I have new growth yay !!)

STN And I immediately hit it off in a way that only someone who is incredibly authentic, approachable and genuinely altruistic can be. Even though I was the last appointment with no appointment of the day, he took his time and made sure to really listen to why I even came in what I was looking for and then gave me such a perfect service for my hair. The artistry and precision in which the layers he gave me were executed. I'm still in awe because they are still just beautiful bouncy and soft even after I slept like an absolute goblin last night.

STN is such an incredible stylist and can see exactly what your hair needs. He is so able to communicate the plan and also take into account what your goals are and I think that it's so important for anyone in the beauty industry.

I don’t want to leave a mean review, but I want to be honest. Everyone who works there is extremely nice, and they all seem to be very good at cutting hair. They respect pronouns and make you feel very welcome. However I got a haircut today from McKenna and I am pretty unhappy. It’s devastating to me, as I was already on the fence about cutting my hair, and I only decided to do it because I really liked a specific style. Like I said before, she was extremely nice, but she cut my hair much shorter than I asked for. She also didn’t let me look at my hair as she was cutting it, so I had no idea what was going on until the end. Erin ended up taking over to finish the top layers of my cut, and she was amazing. I love what she did to save what was left of my hair. I definitely would go back to her. She did what she could to make it right by comping my cut, but I’m still pretty heartbroken.
