This place is awesome!! A legit rum bar inside a comfy old house from the 1800s. The drinks on the menu are ridiculously good and strong, and they can even make stuff that's not on the menu, or basic drinks like a rum and coke, etc.

The bartender with the moustache was really cool and friendly and great to talk to, as well as the pretty blonde lady who was there the next day when I came back.

They told me they have around 600 different rums from countries all around the world.

I recommend the painkiller, toasted coconut rum bar, the rum runner, and the frozen seasonal fruit daiquiri. I didn't try the hurricane but would have if I was there longer. So many good options it's crazy.

The bar itself is small and L shaped, so it's easy to meet people there and have a good time. They also have some tables both inside and outside on the porch in case you came with some people.

Apparently there's an inn too upstairs but I didn't stay there.

Overall a great place and definitely worth a stop or two while you're in Key...

This place is the real deal. If you want to try different types of rum you won’t find in many places, you need to come here. This is not a tourist trap on Duval. I walked in about 45 minutes before closing time but managed to have a flight.

Tastings range from $25 to $300 depending on what you get and I settled for $70. This included J.M Rhum from Martinique, El Dorado from Guyana, Foursquare from Barbados, SelvaRey (co-owned by Bruno Mars) from Panamá, and Luxus from Guyana and Barbados for 10 years and Spain for five years. These bottles retail for about $150 each. I also learned Plantation is one of the best affordable rums out there for those who are looking to replace Bacardi and Captain Morgan from their cocktails for something of higher quality.

Great place to go down a little rum rabbit hole and learn so much! I stopped by the evening of the 24th of October and the bartender was great. I believe his...

Absolutely loved this place during our first visit 2 nights ago. My husband got the rum flight which he says was amazing. Our male bartender was amazing as well. We decided to go back for my husband’s birthday tonight. All 3 of us sat down at the bar and the female bartender instantly looked at my 21 year old daughter who was not drinking and asked for her ID. My daughter had it but before she could even get it out of her phone the lady was obnoxiously saying “can’t do it!” I replied with can’t do what? She said if she doesn’t have her ID she can’t even sit in this establishment. Ok I understand state law, but complete and utter rudeness is unacceptable! A simple “ I’m sorry honey unless you have your ID” would have worked. Kudos to the male bartender. We will never return. Work in your customer service lady! The Rum is great now you need the rest of...

I wish we would’ve gotten this guy’s name because he was a great bartender… very friendly, helpful, and knew how to mix his rum! We stopped in on a weeknight after dinner… while walking back to our hotel, we came across The Rum Bar and stopped in and this cool dude with a curled handle bar mustache was working – he was spot on with his ability to engage the customers while keeping business flowing. As for the bar – They have a very large rum list and a lot of rum cocktails on their cocktail list! Very impressive! They have the standards, like Pusser’s Pain Killer… but also the cachaça drinks, like the ever-popular Caipirinha. We tried several during our two visits and enjoyed them all. The venue is what we expect, appreciate, and adore about Key West bars too! Definitely stop in!
