I love a candy store and Disney Springs has some of the best. This one is located right after you cross the bridge.
The thing I like most about the candy stores in Disney is that you can see the cheerful and sweet (no pun intended) workers preparing the treats in front of you. Nothing puts me in the mood to purchase candy like watching someone dip a treat into chocolate right before my eyes. The stuff they create is like miniature works of art. Some of the freshly made items you can purchase here include crisped rice treats in a variety of Disney themed shapes, their decadent candy apples, topped marshmallows, and topped gingerbread cookies. You can choose one of their creations or create your own by filling out a card and handing it to the counter.
Goofy's candy Company also carries packaged sweets like marshmallows, flavored popcorn, giant colorful lollipops, and cookies. You can fill a bag with every flavor of jelly bean you can think up. If you require sugar free treats they even offer those here too. This store also has Goofy Glaciers which are like your 7-Eleven slurpee which are perfect for Florida's hot weather. If you are looking to satisfy your sugar fix then this is the place. Their wide variety of treats is sure to...
Read moreThere are definitely some great treats to be found, but there are also a few items I'd suggest avoiding.
First, let's talk about the highlights. The Werther's Butter Bars (caramel) were hands down the best thing in the store. If you're a caramel lover, you absolutely must try them. Another winner was the chocolate peanut butter cookies – they were a delicious indulgence.
Moving on to the okay items, the cupcakes and the unmeltable crispy rice treats were decent choices. They won't blow you away, but they're not disappointing either.
Now, onto the cautionary notes. Avoid the Mickey sugar cookie at all costs. It was dry and lacked flavor – I've had more enjoyable sawdust! Also, steer clear of the marshmallow pops unless you're okay with shelling out $7 for just three marshmallows.
In the end, it's Disney, so you have to expect that everything comes with a bit of a price tag. While there are some great treats to be found, the overall quality is average, and you're definitely paying a premium for the Disney experience. So, if you're looking for a sweet treat, there are better options out there, but if you're in the mood to splurge, Goofey's Candy Co. has...
Read moreI wore my mask in the store for the entire trip and lowered it for literally two seconds to use Apple Pay at check out when a young caucasian security guard approaches me about the mask rule. Respectfully I tell him that’s fine and finish my check out. My problem isn’t that I was approached, it’s that you wasn’t correcting the many caucasian families inside who weren’t wearing a mask at all and many had theirs lowered below their chin and you did nothing to correct them. I know because I walked around the store with my family looking at the food options and we noticed they were not following the mask rule and yet the security guard just stood by not saying anything to anyone. I’m fully vaccinated and still wore my mask while browsing and don’t mind doing my part in stores by wearing it, however security needs to not be biased in enforcing rules. Don’t just follow customers and enforce it for the African Americans shopping yet ignore and give other people who are blatantly ignoring the rules a pass. Enforce it fairly for everyone. Don’t...
