READ FOR NEW PARKING INFO
If you're confused about parking- you're not the only one. It's a mess. If you would have asked me 3 months ago to rate this gym I'd give it a solid 4 stars but now with the parking it's just difficult.
SO, instead of parking at the very convenient lot right in front of the gym (it's no longer there) gym members have to park on Magnolia in the Superior Court House parking lot. **ONLY ON FLOOR 4 (ROOFTOP). The parking attendant was rude and didn't want to help me when I asked about where I should park. Thankfully I asked because there is no signage until you get halfway to the gym that tells you that 24 HR members MUST park on the 4th floor or they'll get towed. So luckily I saw that sign AND I asked, otherwise I would have been towed and apparently the Court is strict about that. Also, you have to use your phone for parking. Scan the QR code- get a text- and enter that way. Actually, that part I like lol. Much easier unless you have a car in front of you that doesn't know how to technology 🙃
BUT if you're going to the gym 7pm-7am you can park in the World Trade Center lot for 2 hours. But only after 7pm and before 7am.
Most people probably don't have a problem with this but as a woman... this is sketchy AF! Ya'll know how Long Beach is. You know what kind of characters are walking around the parking garage and on the street. I don't feel like it's safe for anyone but especially women, which really sucks! So after taking a while to navigate through the Court parking garage, which is crowded because again, Court parking lot, I needed to get to the gym (oh yeah you forgot this was a gym review huh? Lol) walking through the WTC Lobby is a No No, I got reprimanded. You need to walk your butt all the way down magnolia and go through the outdoor entrance. It's a lot just to get into the gym.
ANYWAYS, I know this is NOT the gym's fault. I'm sure they also hate this. The staff is great there but this decision to not get gym members better and safer parking really affects the convenience of coming to this 24Hr Fitness,...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience with this 24 Hour Fitness location over the phone. I spoke with Rebeca, who identified herself as the manager. She was dismissive, unhelpful, and offered no real solution to my membership issue. Instead of assisting me or trying to resolve the matter, she told me to continue disputing the charge with my bank and to wait for them to handle it which felt like an unprofessional and careless response coming from a manager.
When I asked for the phone number to the corporate office, she gave me the number to the cancellation department. Thankfully, I thought to ask because had I not requested it, I never would’ve been connected to the right team. The cancellation department was extremely helpful, professional, and resolved my issue within seconds. They provided me with clear, accurate information and immediate email confirmations something I did not receive from Rebeca, who had earlier given me incorrect information about how my issue should be handled.
Rebeca also incorrectly told me that I would be charged an annual fee in two weeks, even though I had already canceled my membership. The cancellation department assured me that no further fees would be charged and confirmed that my account had been properly closed which shows just how misinformed and unhelpful her guidance was.
What I don’t understand is why that contact information wasn’t offered to me from the beginning. Instead of encouraging me to continue a frustrating dispute process, she could’ve simply directed me to the department that actually handles cancellations something I would expect any manager to do.
This experience left me with a very negative impression of how this location is managed and how little support is provided to members...
Read moreGreat facility and best staff! I've been a member at 24 Hour Fitness for 15+ years and have had memberships across the California. Every gym has its own issues (I.e. cleanliness, members, bathroom etc.). Regardless of the facility or company, nothing is always perfect - this is a public place so looking for perfection is unrealistic! BUT, this particular location does try and that's all I can ask for. Service members do their best to be there when I need support. Cleaning crews do their best to clean, equipment is usually fixed within a a reasonable amount of time, there's always plenty of mats in the yoga room, none of the dance studio equipment is locked, elevator always works, and there's plenty of clean areas throughout the facility to find a little corner and do floor exercises while in the weight room too.
I recently had a really great interaction with one specific service member, Anthony Collins. I called asking about the pool cleaning schedule. I had called several other locations and it was really difficult to get a straight answer from others. But Anthony took the time to find out while I stayed on the call and came back with as much info as he could gather. This is what I mean when I say these team members try. Thank you, Anthony!
If you wondering: Pool cleaning schedule - 3x a week specific days rotate per the pool cleaner. Daily PH level check, and daily debris clean...
