Our experience with this company was nothing short of appalling. We entrusted them with the deeply personal and emotional task of sailing our family and friends out so that we can scatter our loved one’s ashes at sea, expecting a respectful and well-organized service. Instead, we were met with rudeness, poor communication, and a complete disregard for the significance of the moment.
From the very start, both the captain and the crew member were unwelcoming, making our group feel uneasy. There were no clear instructions provided, and shockingly, within only a few minutes into sailing they expected us to pour out all the ashes into an open weaved basket while sailing—a completely illogical and inappropriate request, as the wind would have blown the ash all over the place. When we declined, they dismissed our concerns, stating it was simply “their protocol.”
Adding to the chaos, when they announced that we were a few minutes away from our location, we quickly started our prayers and ceremony. Then, in the middle of our prayers, the captain loudly interrupted over the speaker system, an act so thoughtless and disruptive that it was either sheer ignorance or outright disrespect. It was pretty clear she just wanted to rush us. We don’t expect them to know our culture or religion, but it’s pretty common sense to not interrupt people in the middle of a prayer.
When it came time to release the ashes, they disregarded standard protocol and without informing us, they simply lowered the ashes into the water themselves. Typically, families are given the opportunity to lower the basket into the water as a final act of farewell, but we were completely deprived of that moment. They rushed through the process without allowing us time to say our final goodbyes, offer prayers, or even take photos. The instant the ashes were in the water, they immediately sailed off, robbing us of the time we needed to grieve and find closure.
At the end of the trip, when we expressed how deeply disappointed we were, the captain displayed zero compassion. Instead of acknowledging their mishandling of such a sacred event, she offered a cold, dismissive response: “I apologize you feel this way.” No accountability, no empathy. How would she feel if this were her loved one, and she was treated with the same disregard?
We have experienced a memorial service with another company in the past, and it was nothing like this. That company was professional, compassionate, and truly understood the importance of the moment. In contrast, this company is completely unprofessional and inexperienced, with no sense of how to conduct a respectful service.
What was meant to be a peaceful and meaningful farewell was instead rushed, disorganized, and deeply disrespectful. To make matters worse, the boat itself was small, outdated, and poorly maintained.
If you are looking for a compassionate and professional memorial boat service to scatter your loved one’s ashes, do not book with this company. They turned what should have been a sacred final goodbye into a stressful, disheartening experience that we will never forget for all the...
Read moreLack of flexibility and very poor Customer service. I booked a tour with them on Sunday at 1:30 pm using my Go City passes. The cab which was supposed to take us there cancelled at the last minute and we had to book another cab. So we got late for the tour. When the cab cancelled on us, I called the tour and let them know that we are getting late and may miss the tour. I asked the tour operator if she can accommodate us on 6 pm tour. She simply refused stating that they do not accept Go City passes after 5 pm. So I asked them if I can send them pictures and if they can scan it before 5 pm and have our tickets ready. (The Go City passes are active till 5:30). She simply refused stating that they do not accept passes after 5. I am curious, what was the harm in getting the passes scanned before 5? They are on Dock 7 and in the same area Harbor breeze cruise is at Dock 2. They scanned the passes before 5:30 and put us for 6:15 trip. In fact, the tour at dock 2 gave discounted tickets to people who could not use their passes after 5:30. When the company at dock 2 could do it, being in the same complex why the glass bottom tour company is not flexible? I didn't ask for discounted tickets at dock 7, just asked to scan the pass before 5 and put us on 6 pm tour. I seriously do not understand what was the problem with the request and why the tour operator was not flexible.Or the owner is just technically ignorant.I am not from LA and was in LA just for a week. If I go to LA next time, even if this company gives me a free tour I am not going to take it. And I would not even recommend my family or friends to take this tour. Worst customer service I received during my LA trip by this Glass Bottom Tour company...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible experience for our aunt’s ash-scattering memorial service. Captain Nilda was not only unaccommodating, but she was also very rude and disrespectful to our entire ash-scattering memorial service. This was supposed to be a special service to commemorate our loved one- our last good bye to her, but these horrible people took that away from us. We were devastated that the captain just drove off, after a mere few minutes time at the destination. On top of being unaccommodating, she was also disrespectful during our prayer time- interrupting the prayer with an announcement. The captain claimed that she communicated the time to us, but never explained or clarified any of the details, our family was left not knowing when to do things and eventually missing our last goodbye as they scattered the ashes and drove off within a few minutes time. I would never do any type of memorial service or business with these people ever again. They do not care about our families and definitely will not care about yours, they only care about the money. For an hour’s service, 50+ minutes were spent getting to the destination, which left only a few minutes to do the ash-scattering and saying goodbye. This service was a scam and not worth it at all. Please do not waste your money with them, as they definitely are very unprofessional and have no regard...
