This review is long overdue, if I could give them 10 stars I would. First let me start off that the application process was so smooth. We received a tour, put in an application and within 3 days were already signing a lease, they communicated so well and answered all our questions at the time. We now have a total of 8 months living here and have nothing but positive experiences. Housekeeping does an amazing job in keeping the building smelling fresh and clean. Maintenence is always on top of things we never had to wait more than a day to get our request worked on and the process is so seamless. Also every time I see one of the maintenence guys on the elevator or in the building, they are so friendly and have outstanding customer service, I can tell the Crest team really strives to make our living quarters a great experience. The common areas are always clean and well taken care of, and the tenants are all friendly, respectful and it feels like a sense of community. I love the diversity, its mostly working professionals ranging from mid 20's-30s from what I have gathered, but its a quiet and calm place, no rowdiness or any of that, if you're looking for calm and serenity this place is it. For the apartments themselves we have a huge balcony with beautiful ocean views, the soundproof windows work wonders especially on high traffic times downstairs at the Risu and Rainbow bridge. Safety wise, we have not had any personal incidents, and we have always felt safe here, there is a security guard at night and it seems like all of us really put in the work to keep the community safe, its like an unspoken The Crest neighborhood watch. Overall, I really love living here and shoutout to the crest team that has made a...
Read moreI have been living at the Crest for over 2.5 years now, and recently decided to opt out of our lease. Overall my experience has been decent but recently, it has been less than ideal.
At first glance the location of the building seems ideal - being close to the Convention Center. But, the location is also a major downfall. Getting into the parking garage with large events going on is always an issue, and the area is always high trafficked.
Since 2020 the homeless population in Long Beach has increased 62%. You would think that the building would respond to this in order to help ensure the safety of the residents. As a woman I don’t feel safe living here anymore with the lack of security.
There are security guards on site however, there is no dedicated guard that sits in the main lobby where residents enter and exit the building from the Rainbow Bridge. Just recently, I had two very scary instances where I was approached by male transients. One of which caught the door and entered the building behind me and refused to leave. All of which could have been prevented if there was security at the front desk. When I contacted the security number provided there was no answer (not the first time this has happened). I know that other residents have also dealt with their cars and apartments being broken into.
Parking is now $100 per spot -this was also not the case when we first signed our lease in 2020. The internet is also extremely slow and you must purchase Belaire “Bai-connect” even if you want to use an...
Read moreThe Crest is a well maintained beautiful building. I agree with a lot of the positive comments so I won't elaborate there, but my biggest issue with the Crest is that it is most definitely a SMOKING ACCEPTED building. I lived there for almost 2 years and smoke was constantly seeping into my apartment. Management tells me that there is no way it can be coming through the vent but it absolutely was. My Dyson air purifier picked it up every time. Maintenance offered me a scented air filter to mask the smell which is honestly ridiculous and more toxic. I have a baby and the smoke coming into my apartment was so stressful and management did not do enough to stop it. I have spoken to other residents and they have experienced the same thing.
Also, the constant smoking in the building makes the fire alarms go off ALL the time! For a while Risu, the restaurant downstairs, was contributing but they solved their exhaust issues and stopped being a cause for the fire alarm triggering. Every week we were getting an email from management "false fire alarm due to someone smoking in the bathroom". Eventually they stopped sending these out I assume because it was absolutely ridiculous for a non smoking building to have this many issues pertaining to residents smoking.
If you have small children or are sensitive to smoke do not move here.
Other points: -Security has gone downhill. -Pool furniture needs to be cleaned more often bc of the pollution from the port and hwy. -Management changed and is not nearly as...
