California Pizza Kitchen at The Pike Outlets — Restaurant in Long Beach

This was, without question, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had — and it had nothing to do with the food.

We waited over 30 minutes just to get our order taken, despite the restaurant having plenty of empty tables. That’s already a bad sign. But what truly made this place unforgettable — for all the wrong reasons — was the host. The person whose job it is to make guests feel welcome was, quite frankly, the rudest and most unprofessional individual I’ve ever encountered in any service setting.

I own a restaurant myself, so I understand the pressure of hospitality. But there is no excuse for the kind of disrespectful, dismissive, and outright hostile behavior we experienced. This man ignored us while glued to his phone, clearly aware we were trying to get his attention. And as we finally walked out — defeated and disgusted — he had the audacity to say, “Finally.” Absolutely unacceptable.

To add to the disaster, our server failed to mention that one of the dishes we ordered was unavailable — until after an hour had passed. By that point, my mother left hungry. While I recognize the waiter seemed overwhelmed and was likely the only one actually doing his job, basic communication is non-negotiable.

I don’t care if this review changes nothing. I’ll do everything in my power to escalate this to corporate, because no customer should ever be treated this way — not at a street cart, not at a dive bar, and definitely not at a place that pretends to be...

This is a really weird CPK. First of all I couldn't even tell if it was open or not it was no indication and it wasn't until we got super close like on their little patio area then we were able to see inside and see people that they were open. Then they squeezed us in all on one side and this CPK instead of very weird weird like there's gaping space everywhere in awkward places we sat in a booth with a whole little vestibule of Dead space on the other side was the kiosk to ring people up and then the wall of Windows it was just very weird. The server was okay until the very end when he just disappeared like we were ready to leave and could not find him for a good while. It was so long that my boyfriend actually went up to the counter and was waiting in line behind a person getting takeout to ask for waiter. He had been standing in line for a good 2 minutes when waiter just suddenly appeared out of nowhere and I flagged him down like hey he's over here and my boyfriend came back to our seats. The food was fine as it CPK so I'm sure there's standards for all locations. I'm not necessarily sure I would return to this location but it's not really even an option because I'm never in Long Beach maybe once a year if that but if I lived out here I would not...

First time at this restaurant and first time at this location and it’ll be my last. Ordered two Banh Mi “bowls” that are really salads to go and went in to pick it up around closing and the server that seen us walk in just walked past us while we waited to be greeted as to how we could be helped. So since he walked past us we walked to the back to ask for help. We gave the guy our name for pickup and he looked very confused. He went to go ask someone for help and they brought our “bowls” that we added salmon to upfront. Without checking the order to ensure it was correct he told us our total was $45. As we looked in the bag we noticed the food was missing salmon he was charging us for. We waited an extra 5 minutes which is fine for the fresh salmon he said the cook was making. The salmon they “cooked” for us was dry and you could tell was scraps from the bottom of a pan because it was dried out and barely any real meat to it. Terrible customer service as they didn’t even apologize for the error. For someone such as myself that thrives off customer service this establishment does not have that.
