After a bad experience a have with Nordstrom 3 years ago I was avoiding shopping from them.
A week ago i was in the area, saw online an off-white bag they have on sale and decided to ordered it with same day pick up. I went to Nordstrom at the Grove to picked up the bag. A lady at the pick up spot gave me my package and all good. Thank god i staid there to open the box and realised they gave me the bag I ordered with wrong colour details and hardware. I was really disappointed and the lady asked from the bag department to helped me. I went to the bag section to found out that they were out of stock on the colour I ordered in that store and decided to gave me the colour they had....WITHOUT notice. Also the bag seemed more like display piece because of some flaws it had. I decided to reorder the bag at the right colour from a different store with next day pick up. Also ordered a pair off-white rain boots on sale. I went to pick up the bag and they gave me the bag in a dust bag and in a plastic bag.. no box. The first time the same bag came with original box and one day after I received a $800 designer bag in a plastic bag with only dust bag...
2 days after that I went to picked up the boots. They came with scratches and glue all over... I asked what’s my options and a guy from the shoe section came to “helped” me with an attitude, he told me that those boots come from sale racks in stores not from the warehouse and that’s why they have flaws.
So most Nordstrom’s designers sales are not brand new items they have in stock, they are displayed pieces. They don’t mention that on there app.
1 day after all that happened I choose to buy again from them 3 pairs Crocs x Balenciaga on sale. A lady placed the order for me online for pick up in store. After 3 hours one of the items was cancelled and after 7-8 hours a second one was cancelled because they were out of stock. Anyway, I checked the app the next day to saw the status of the pair that left and I noticed that instead of preparing for pick up the status was preparing to ship with me name, the Grove’s location address and a suite number as shipping information. Felt wrong so I contacted the customer service and speak with a guy who ensured me that this is the way they do it and I have to wait for the confirmation email for pick up in store. 2 days after that I contacted again the customer service and asked again if everything was ok with the status of my order and the girl I spoke with told me the same thing, everything seemed ok and the approximate pick up date is 17th June. Today out of blue I received an email that the mail carrier tried to delivery my package but missed me. So I contacted again the customer service and asked for a supervisor, she told that this isn’t not an order placed for pick up in store(!) and spoke with the courier to fix the issue.
All times I want in store for shopping or pick up employees have attitude and most of the times they are rube. They really seemed annoyed when I asked for help. Only a guy at bags section with green hair was kind and truly helped. The vides are not good and for me it’s not a pleasant shopping experience at all.
If you want to spend money on designer items and have a great time you better go to Beverly Center 3 minutes drive... Don’t waist your time at Nordstrom.
I spoke with Jessica, a store manager, for all the issues, she is very professional and helped me a lot. She also gave me a box for the bag. I truly...

On more than one occasion, I’ve been approached by sales associates who offered personalized suggestions, checked in-stock items quickly, and even offered to place online orders on the spot if something wasn’t available in-store. The customer-first mentality is truly evident here.
🎁 Perks & extras: • In-store tailoring and alterations available — and they’re fast, precise, and often complimentary for Nordstrom purchases. • Online order pickup is seamless and efficient. The customer service desk handles it with zero hassle. • Personal stylists are available by appointment and are fantastic for wardrobe updates or special events.

Read moreMy recent trip to Nordstrom at The Grove was a bit of a mixed bag, but ultimately ended on a high note. I was on a mission for a new face cream. My skin has been feeling incredibly dry and lackluster lately, and I was determined to find something deeply moisturizing that would bring back some of that youthful glow.
The Grove itself is a lovely outdoor mall, and the Nordstrom is a beautiful store. However, I quickly noticed that the beauty counters were buzzing with activity. It was a Saturday, so that probably contributed to the crowds, but it seemed like the sales assistants were stretched thin. I stopped by the Clarins counter first, hoping to get some personalized recommendations. While the displays were beautifully arranged, the sales associate I approached seemed rushed and preoccupied, quickly pointing me towards a few products without really listening to my specific concerns. The same experience repeated itself at the Estée Lauder counter. I understand it's a busy environment, but I really value that one-on-one consultation when making a significant skincare purchase.
I browsed a few other big name brands, but the overall vibe was similar – helpful enough, but not quite the in-depth assistance I was hoping for. I almost gave up and decided to leave empty-handed. As I was heading towards the exit, I noticed a smaller, less crowded counter tucked away near the back. It was for a brand I wasn't familiar with: Lancome. Intrigued, I wandered over.
The sales associate there, a lovely woman named Sarah, was a breath of fresh air. She was incredibly attentive and took the time to truly listen to my skin concerns. She asked about my skin type, my current routine, and what I was hoping to achieve. She then carefully explained the ingredients in several Lancome creams, highlighting their hydrating properties and recommending one specifically formulated for dry, skin. She even applied a small sample to my hand so I could feel the texture and experience the light, pleasant scent.
I was so impressed with Sarah's knowledge and genuine care that I decided to take a chance on the Lancome cream. And I'm so glad I did! After just a week of using it, my skin feels incredibly hydrated, soft and glowy. It's exactly what I was looking for.
While the experience at the bigger brand counters wasn't ideal, discovering Lancome and receiving such wonderful service from Sarah made my trip to Nordstrom worthwhile. It just goes to show that sometimes, the best finds are the ones you least expect. I’d also recommend checking out the beauty counter at Lancome if you're ever in the market for high-quality skincare – I've heard great things about their...
