Spent $41.60 to purchase some ice cream, sorbet, and shakes for the kids on a whim after shopping at The Grove. Store 1356.
What a terrible way to end a pleasant day.
Our daughter, who turned 5 on Saturday November 04th, 2023, dropped her medium sized strawberry sorbet cup immediately after being handed her order.
When my wife kindly requested they replace her cup, the young caucasian male working there on Saturday said they couldn’t replace it for her because it was company policy.
My wife further explained that it was an accident, and her birthday, so they begrudgingly made an exception and provided her with a small cup of sorbet, because GOD forbid they replaced her sorbet cup with the same medium size cup she originally purchased.
We understand company policy and all, but what has the world come to that when a child drops their ice cream upon being handed their order, that the store decides there’s no recourse for this type of incident?
This is not how to win-over customers or keep them for that matter. Stop focusing on the financial implication this has on your bottom dollar, VS the pleasure of a little girl, on her birthday, with her family.
She cried over being downsized, but the heartless employee behind the counter thought sticking to company policy was more important than making my child happy.
Haagen-Dazs is a washed-up brand anyhow. The Grove should look for a better quality ice cream shop to take over their space when their lease is up. Much better small-batch ice cream out there these days.
The apple has fallen too far from the tree with the Haagen-Dazs brand my family recalls when it was once a global brand that actually understood the concept of customer service and...
Read moreI was so excited to try this shop for the first time but was quickly disappointed. I was in line prior to 9 p.m. which is their closing time (I got there around 8:45). The people in front of me took awhile to order. They had a lot of questions and three kids with them that they also wanted to order for. It was frustrating for myself and everyone in line. I could tell that the employees were starting to get annoyed as well but I waited patiently for the guests ahead of me to finish. When it was my turn, they said they were closed and slammed the window on myself and the other customers who were standing there waiting. I could understand if I had arrived after the closing time but I was there before. It had nothing to do with time constraints but everything to do with the employee’s laziness. They could have served us. Especially since the only items on the menu they were serving were ice cream in a cup or in a cone, none of the shakes or sundaes were available to order. I was hoping they would practice better customer service and exhibit some type of...
Read moreI had high expectations coming to the Häagen-Dazs at The Grove, but sadly, it was a major letdown. The staff was unenthusiastic and seemed like they didn't want to be there, which really killed the vibe from the start. The line moved slowly, and by the time I got to order, half the flavors I wanted were either unavailable or melted-looking. They need to change management all these youngings never take work serious.
The ice cream itself? Not worth it. I ordered a classic flavor (vanilla), but it tasted flat and not as creamy as I remembered. Even the waffle cone was stale! For the premium prices they charge, you expect top quality, but this place didn’t deliver at all. Save yourself the disappointment and try one of the other dessert spots...
