All hype with ok drinks.
The decor is cute, the merchandise bright (and slightly ironic given the behavior of other patrons), but the drinks were meh at best. We got a cute strawberry lemonade and a London fog. Somehow the London fog came out almost immediately and I was suspicious because no black tea brews that quickly. Sure enough they'd simply put milk, too hot to be in consumer hands water and an earl grey tea bag in a cup and then served it. Bit of a risk given that when I tried to take a sip I burned part of my tongue. If I'm being served a drink with no warning that it's still in progress then it should be safe to drink, it wasn't. Add to that that earl grey as a tea shouldn't be allowed to overstep, it becomes bitter. So this strategy of shove the bag in the cup and then hand it off is really lazy, and for somewhere with this much hype this alone showed how little care there is for product. The earl grey was also a very weak brew even though I left it in for the usual brewing time for that type of tea. Considering there was no sugar (great imo) the flavor should've punched through but it was a big tea bag with very mild flavor. Made for an unpleasant London fog. The strawberry lemonade tasted fine but it also was exactly like a premade minute made mixture you can buy in bulk for home consumption, so nothing special.
The clientele were either people desperate for caffeine after shopping/walking or passive aggressive teens/pre-teens out unsupervised and showing off how much their parents didn't reinforce manners. Be prepared for maximum hype driven patronage with minimal quality of product.
At least it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent in yesterday as a first time customer and based on all the hype Iāve seen and heard I was excited to finally try their drinks. Their location was very clean , they have 2 couches inside and many tables outside. They had about 3 people behind the counter so as I walked in and could clearly see them I said hello ⦠not one person greeted me. Since no one else was in line I stood at the counter reviewing their menu. The clerk was literally standing right in front of me waiting for me to order and not once offered any feedback . I moved closer and said hello again and all the clerk said was what can I get you with an attitude , I literally wanted to walk out but was trying to be the bigger person. I ordered and even tipped 22% on 1 drink and didnāt even get a thank you instead I got silence. I tipped because again Iām in customer service and when a service is provided thatās what you do and was hoping whoever made my drink would do better with service. They called my name I said thank you and got nothing back from the two standing behind the counter ā¦. Now the drink was good ! I had the Spencer Pratt Banana Matcha- very tasty. I have been in dust service for 21 years so I do expect anyone in customer service to have a welcoming attitude and if you canāt at the least provide a greeting youāre obviously in the wrong industry. I blame management here because these are children working here ⦠they are all extremely young and of course have either no experience or very little and probably just want their check. I will never return to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have Celiac disease and therefore cant consume any gluten in the slightest amount without becoming violently ill. I had seen that this cafe claimed that all of their drinks are gluten free. I was so excited to try a new place so I came and attempted to place an order. However, the employees were condescending and laughed at my concerns. I had simply asked to double check the ingredients on the syrups. One larger, tall employee who had a mustache yelled from across the store that nothing was gluten free. So I left the line. However another nice employee came from the back and again told me that everything was certified gluten free. I ordered a coffee but forgot to have her check the caramel sauce. So I waited off to the side to ask another employee (it was not busy at all). The same taller man rolled his eyes and said nothing is gluten free again. At this point I was getting very frustrated because being gluten free isnt a diet choice for me, I can be hospitalized. So I asked the girl behind him to check. She was very sweet and checked for me without issue. The taller man then kept pulling his coworkers aside and laughing at me. He was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. He then yelled at me from across the store again that i was "good" and "can go"... I ended up just tossing the coffee all together. The staff needs to be trained much better regarding allergies and health concerns. The overall experience was disgusting for a cafe that claims to be all about kindness. Id avoid this place...
