Just returned from an almost two week trip to Italy with a Few days prior to Salzburg,Austria (which is so beautiful, highly recommend as well.) Italy is so beautiful, we had a great time. This group was so helpful to me. We spend two nights in Venice, 3 nights in Umbria (Assisi), 3 nights in Minori on Amalfi coast , and one night in Rome as we were flying back from Rome the next day.
Venice is amazing to see . I highly recommend staying in a quieter neighborhood away from Rialto and San Marco square. So much more peaceful and easier to appreciate the beauty of Venice. We stayed in Dosodormo (not sure I spelled that right) neighborhood which was so quaint. We found the Rialto area so crowded and overwhelming. highly recommend the Doge’s palace secret itinerary tour. Mostly loved walking through the small quaint streets.
Rented a car to drive to Assisi. The Umbria region (next to Tuscany) is not mentioned a lot here but it’s so beautiful. I loved Assisi and Spello, both so gorgeous. Nice quiet change of place and beautiful farmlands. We happened upon a vineyard in Montefalco and the owner was so welcoming and generous. I will post her vineyard in the comments. Such a gorgeous area.
Minori was so nice and relaxing. Glad we didn’t stay overnight in Amalfi and Positano because they were both extremely crowded during the day. I’ve heard they’re quieter at night but so crazy with long ferry lines like cattle during the day. Not hard to get ferry tickets the day of though. Still worth visiting but just be aware.
Rome just for a day. Extremely hot. Saw a few sites which were amazing of course but I’m glad at least this time of year we didn’t spend more time there. But it is a fascinating place to see.
Italy is an amazing country and can’t wait to go back. Hope this...
Read moreOne beautiful summer day, I decided to head to Venice Boardwalk to play some pickleball. I had recently discovered this fun sport and had been practicing it at my local gym for a few weeks, but I was excited to play outdoors.
I arrived at the boardwalk and found an open court. As I set up the net, a group of people started to gather around me, curious about the game. I welcomed them and invited them to join me.
Before I knew it, I was playing a friendly game of pickleball with a diverse group of people. There were tourists, locals, kids, and seniors, all sharing the same passion for the sport. The atmosphere was lively and festive, with music playing in the background and the smell of street food filling the air.
As the game progressed, I was having a blast. I loved the fast-paced action and the challenge of hitting the ball just right. I also enjoyed the camaraderie with my opponents and how they all cheered each other on.
After a while, we decided to take a break and grab a bite to eat. We went to a nearby food truck and got some delicious tacos and refreshments. We chatted about the game and life in general, enjoying the beautiful day and the company.
Feeling recharged, we headed back to the court and continued playing pickleball until the sun started to set. As the game wrapped up, we exchanged contact information, promising to play again soon.
Walking away from the court, I felt invigorated and happy. I had discovered a new passion and made new friends in the process. The Venice Boardwalk had given me an unforgettable day of fun,...
