InFocus Eyecare South Beach — Attraction in Miami Beach

This review should be taken as a singular experience. Whether other experiences are the same may depend on how they interpret your expectations. As one of the few higher-end optometrists in South Beach, I was happy to have found them. Glasses were expensive, but quality was high. Then, the staff changed. A lens fell out of my (recently purchased as far as I can recall, but apparently disputed) sunglasses, while out of town for 6 months, and I waited to return to have them repaired by the same vendor who sold them. When the repair became more than just inserting a new screw, the new manager balked, saying they no longer carried that particular brand. Not persuaded that was an adequate excuse, I insisted, having spent literally thouands of dollars over the past several years for both me and my wife, that they were still obligated to fix them, to which they relectantly agreed. Several (close to 6) weeks later, they were returned, with the lens seemingly intact, but a nosepiece missing. When pointed out, something they knew about already, the hostiltiy increased until a threat to call Security ensued. Knowing one never wins in such a situation, I left, with a few harsh words for the manager, who appeared mostly responsible for the dispute. A letter to the reputed boss has gone unanswered. Absolutely Loving My New Glasses from South Beach Vision – Shoutout to Freddy!

Walking into South Beach Vision, I was just looking for a new pair of glasses but ended up getting so much more. I have to talk about Freddy – this guy is a gem! He made the whole process super chill and fun. I mean, picking out glasses can be kinda overwhelming, right? But Freddy was right there with me, making it feel like I was just shopping with a friend who happened to know everything about glasses.

He really listened to what I needed, showed me this awesome variety, and gave me advice that made sense for me. Freddy's vibe is just so down-to-earth and genuine. You can tell he loves what he does, and it makes all the difference.

And the glasses? I swear I've never seen this clearly before. It's like HD vision or something! Plus, they're so light I barely notice them on my face. I keep touching my nose to make sure they're still there – they always are, thankfully!

UPDATE: After a year, I got my eye exam done somewhere else, received the exact same prescription and the contacts were not considered "premium". The co-pay was less than 25% of what South Beach Vision charged me.

I got overbilled for a premium fitting for regular contacts I was already wearing so they could rip me off $269 instead of what was covered by my insurance. The lack of transparency and bad faith in not informing me about that is unacceptable. I am reporting this as fraudulent billing to my insurance. In addition, I am now being harassed to change this review. TERRIBLE BUSINESS.

In response to their comment: 1-No, at any point I’ve been informed about them performing a contacts fit that was not covered by my insurance for being considered “premium”. 2- Your contact in regards to my review never offered a solution, but simply asked me to remove my bad review. That was our second contact after my visit, after you being firm on the practice that you wouldn’t do anything about it. Frank finished the call with “ok, we’ll take care of it our own way”.
