The Escape Game Miami — Attraction in Miami

We had a really fun time with this room. We used a Groupon, which was a great deal and easily redeemed. We were in town for 1 night, and the weather was stormy, so we wanted an indoor activity. When we showed up, there was a room getting ready to start. We had a group of 5. There was a group of 2 already signed up. We were able to join them, however, the pair decided they wanted to move to a different time. It's ok. I get it.

We had two people (a 13 yo and a 72 yo) who had never done an escape room. The room was challenging, but not impossible. Those who had never participated were able to help out with locks and decoding, so they weren't completely bored.

We did appreciate that we were able to use unlimited clues. I believe we used 3 (one in each of the 3 rooms). The features were cool, well incorporated and clever. We were able to escape with just a couple of minutes to spare.

Actually, my favorite part was the employee that was overseeing our adventure talked with us a bit after the room. She offered to take a photo for us, and seemed very enthusiastic to share her thoughts about us as we were trying to solve the clues. She seemed to really be rooting for us, and complimented my son on figuring out a feature that most people really struggle with.

It was very fun, and a great introduction to escape rooms for the newbies. I probably wouldn't pay regular price for my whole family to go. I do wish there were one closer to where we live. ...

We had an amazing time here! So many escape rooms around Miami seem to be office rooms with props, but this was a truly immersive experience. Amazing room setup decor, great story line and puzzles, video screen integration and so on. This is the real deal, don’t fall for imitators. Had trouble finding the parking garages and me and other parents had to circle around 1 way streets in loops to try again. And then parking was so full in the garage it took forever to find a spot. Anyway basically come really early if you’re driving and if you are meeting other people set a meeting location in advance. The place itself was so cool and the kids had a blast for my daughter’s birthday party. Everyone always seems to contribute in one way or another and become really involved which makes it so cool. Even though we were like 20 minutes late and only had about 48 minutes left on the clock (thank god they didn’t start on the dot and gave a little leeway) we managed to pull through and escape with about a minute left somehow with some help from the clues of course. Anneshia was our awesome team leader and made the experience even better with her great intro and commentary afterwards. She also helped with the one person who went to the wrong location by accident and missed it so they could do a game another time which was really above and beyond. And birthday girl got a really cool t shirt proving her escape…had a blast and will...

We had a frustrating experience our second time at the Escape Game Miami. Our first escape game experience was enjoyable so we booked a second time. We booked for 2:55 and arrived 10 min early and checked in. We then waited and waited. Finally we got into the long line to talk to the front desk again, after waiting in line for a while. It turns out that they had started without us. It seems they had forgotten about us. The staff then started to lead us back to the room...but at that point the escape game time slot was already 1/4 over. Why did we bother getting there 10 minutes early if we then were going to be starting the game so late? We had already missed the intro and the folks in that room were already well started into the game. We got there early on purpose to have the full time to enjoy the game. This didn't make any sense. It felt highly disorganized.

We didn't want to start the game late so we told the staff we wanted to cancel. They offered us to come back in 2 hours for the next time slot, or to wait another 20 minutes for a different game to start that we did not want to do.

We were frustrated and eventually received a refund, but we had already wasted an hour of our time and $20 for parking.

Tl;dr: the escape room forgot about us and we wasted time and money

Edit: immediately contacted by customer service to schedule a free escape room to make up for it....
