WOW! This afternoon we saw "Run, Bambi, Run" and it was just incredibly well done! First, the theater does not have a bad seat so don't worry about sight lines or being on the side of the stage; all are good spots. The director knows everyone deserves a good view. It is an intimate venue and the acoustics are great, especially for someone like me who has a slight hearing impairment. You are close to the actors and the stage is large. The seats are leveled well so even a tall person in front of you should not be a problem. This production was one that you should not miss. The true story is set here in Milwaukee and it helps if you know the story, which is easy to find online. Also, at the 1:30 show there was a preview at about 12:50 (which we missed) so plan to arrive a bit early for any performance if you want a chance to see this. From the actors to the sets, the sound and the music this was a show that fit perfectly in this venue but can easily be presented on a larger stage. Every actor was multi-talented by voice and every instrument imaginable. The choreography is mind-blowing and the actors are wonderfully natural and the 3-hour show blew by before we knew it. Who knew a musical story about murder could tug at your heartstrings in the end?! I will be shocked if this doesn't end up on Broadway. Even if you don't know the story, the presentation is clear and artistic perfection. Bravo to all who gave us this...
Read moreEvery time I come for a show, I fall in love with the unimaginable talent that we have found in Milwaukee more and more! I won tickets to a show from 88.9 Radio Milwaukee and loved it. One day I got a call about support the Rep with a donation or a subscription to help during Covid and I have yet to have a bad experience! My Way was so mind-blowing that I had to come back and see it again! (2nd was even better because the audience was more interactive and had the crew cracking up too!) Dad's Season Tickets, As You Like It, My Way, and most recently Titanic by themselves are enough of a reason to become a patron... Can't wait for Murder On The Orient Express! Also, The Stackner Caberet has really really good food so also highly recommend a dinner reservation before your show. You can thank me...
Read moreWe saw THE LAST FIVE YEARS last night at the Stackner Cabaret The 8oclock show. We are season ticket holders and in the past 20 years have enjoyed excellent food and service in the Cabaret. Last night we enjoyed a Chinese dinner across the street early, and saved room for a delicious dessert during the show but were told when we got there at 7:45 that the kitchen was closed and we couldn't order anything ! Chocolate cake is already made. No kitchen required. Serve it on a paper plate if you can't afford to pay the dishwasher or maybe you sell the tables and call the theater something else. The play was good, (funny and sad) but we were annoyed by the change in rules. I won't order any Saturday night shows in the Stackner after this. Keep it to matinees if you want any refreshments...
