Went to see the Psychology of Serial Killers a while back and it was great!! However, getting to that was quite the experience. To start—I had never been to the Pabst before. I pre purchased my tickets online and got parking tickets.
Get to the parking which is a few blocks away from the theatre, and parking is alright but not user friendly if you pre purchased your ticket. There is no way to get your physical parking ticket unless you print it yourself. I did not have a physical ticket and only had it on my phone, and I did not receive any fine as there was also no one monitoring the area. I would recommend finding closer parking or using the BMO tower parking if you can since it’s more customer friendly and nicer in general.
My friend and I go to check in for the show and I have my show receipts on my phone in my email; however, the woman in charge of scanning tickets tells me multiple times I need to have something for her to scan like a barcode and eventually tells me to use the AXS app. I go to login to the AXS app but it would not let me login or reset my password. I tried explaining this and the woman seemed very blaming and acting as if I didn’t have a ticket when I clearly paid for the show and I just could not get into the app to access the barcode she absolutely needed to scan! Her and another lady had me go to the box office to see if they could help me since they absolutely could not let me in with just a ticket receipt.
I get to the box office and tell them what was going on—again—very blaming as if it was my fault the app was not working for me. She luckily printed our tickets for us (she said she was not supposed to) and we were able to go to the show. I was truly just confused as to why there was such a big deal to get in considering I had my ticket receipts. Also—had the box office lady not graciously helped us and printed tickets (even though she is not supposed to) we would not have been let in to a show that we paid $90 to be at.
Thus, your ticket receipts will absolutely not get you in because they MUST have something to scan—I highly recommend making sure you have the AXS mobile app if you purchased your tickets with them, and make sure you can get in the app prior to going to the show. OR print your tickets out and bring them with you, otherwise-you may not be able to get in at all.
Luckily the workers were somewhat understanding at the end of the day, but they definitely made it seem like they did not need to help me, which is unfortunate and reflects very poor customer service and experience. I have been to much busier places that had drastically better...
Read moreReally nice facility, staff is friendly, and they have great entertainment come through. I've seen Carroll Burnette, Jinkx Monsoon, RuPaul's Werk the World, Bruce Dickinson, Clerks III with Kevin Smith, and just recently the Living Colour/Extreme concert last night. It's a nice venue. That said, there's only one drawback. They partner with a lot at 777 N. Milwaukee Street, the MAC structure. We have pre-paid parking through the Pabst and the last two times we went through them, the parking structure was full, closed off with the orange cones, and we had to get out to have attendants end up telling us to go park at their overflow lot the next block over, which turns out to not be covered parking in a structure, it's an open lot with minimal security. The attendants weren't very clear as to what lot was specifically overflow parking, so we had thought they meant they were working with the BMO parking structure for overflow. Nope. We got turned away at BMO, went back to the other parking structure (to be fair we were pretty mad and didn't handle it very well), and then the attendant had to point and said "no not the BMO building, look at the brown building next to it, the lot in front of that brown building is overflow parking." Basically, their signage and communication was terrible so we were late to the concert. This is not a fault of The Pabst itself, however, it is a complaint about their choice of partnership with that specific parking company. I would enjoy my experience as an event attendee more if I knew my reserved pre-paid parking was reliable and communication on where to park was clearer. If the Pabst could iron out that detail and get better secured parking contracts, that would be a huge improvement. An improvement on what is otherwise a...
Read moreMy husband and I went to see the Steeley Dane band. I bought him front row tickets for Christmas. About 1/3 of the way into the show? Some really drunk girls came up and started dancing in the space between our row and the stage. They were very distracting and made it difficult to see the stage. Lots more people came up and then staff told them they needed to go back to their seats and they reluctantly did. Then, a little bit later they came back up and kept screaming for their friends to come up. One guy was running around bouncing into people up there. One women sat on the rail in front of our seat. It was impossible to see anything! The last straw was when two very large men stood right in front of us! They weren’t dancing, just standing there with their drinks talking like they were in a bar! The staff came down again and asked them to go back to their seats and they refused so he walked away! We didn’t get to see most of the last half of the show. It felt unsafe too. I was afraid of what would happen if they fell into me or spilled something on us or if a fight would start. It ruined the experience for us. I hope they will get some security who takes their job seriously. If they don’t comply then they should be escorted out. We are coming in March to see snarky puppy and I hope they have this situation resolved by then! The band was amazing but after paying a lot for the seats, we couldn’t...
