Miranda Priestly: Where are the belts for this dress? Why is no one ready?
Jocelyn: Here. It’s a tough call. They’re so different.
Andy Sachs: (snickers under her breath)
Miranda Priestly: Something funny?
Andy Sachs: No. No, no, nothing’s… you know, it’s just that… both those belts look exactly the same to me. Y’know, I’m still learning about this stuff, and uh… (giggles uncomfortably)
Miranda Priestly: This… “stuff”? Oh, okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you.
You… go to your closet, and you select… I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back, but what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean.
You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that, in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns, and then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent, wasn’t it?… who showed cerulean military jackets. I think we need a jacket here.
Nigel: Hmm.
Miranda Priestly: And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. Then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic casual corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin.
However, that blue represents millions of dollars of countless jobs, and it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you’re wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room… from a...
Read moreI love having this little movie theater in the neighborhood. I've seen plenty here now and everyone working there is always nice; they seem to care about movies. It'd be an easy five stars if not for two things -- seems like sometimes they'll have a movie for just a week or so, which has caused me to miss seeing things I was interested in because I didn't happen to have time that week. But I get it, few screens and so many movies that it just isn't logistically possible to run everything. However sometimes it seems like they'll run a movie or two for a very long time and neglect other films. My second gripe is that some of the seating on the sides can sometimes have the view obstructed by the theater lights. They've got a cool spindly design to them, but I think it's crazy they went to the trouble of putting theatres together and when light fixtures were obviously in the viewers' line of sight they just said 'oh well.' Overall a theater I enjoy and I'm sure I'll continue to visit them...
Read morePoor experience overall at the Landmark Lagoon Theatre. The last film I saw here was in 2022 but I have been coming here for many years, sadly after seeing Weapons this afternoon this will be my last visit. Ticket prices for a matinee showing are $30 for 2 people, and concession pricing is on par with theaters with much better seating and AC that actually works in the theaters. However, nowhere is it displayed that the $24 dollar sodas and popcorn that we paid for are not refillable and only if you are a “member” then you get refills. This practice is abhorrent and when asked for some contact to reach out, the associate working decided to stonewall me and not provide any adequate contact to reach out regarding these practices. To top it off your “popcorn” was luke warm at best and had hoped you’d refill with fresh popcorn. I am out $54 dollars from this trip and at this point will never return if that is how they are going to operate and train...
