Pet Paradise Mooresville saved my kitten's life! My husband and I had boarded our sweet 6 month old Sophia at this location during Thanksgiving. I received a phone call from Alexis on Thanksgiving Day letting me know that Sophia had thrown up along with having diarrhea. I was incredibly thankful that she alerted me about this. It showed that she was paying close attention to Sophia. Alexis said she would call me if there were any other changes and she would keep me updated.
The next morning the vet tech, Lori called and said that Sophia was still having diarrhea and asked if she and Dr. Moore could give her an exam and see what else maybe going on with Sophia. I didn't hesitate and agreed that the exam needed to take place. I was informed that Sophia had a severely bad ear infection to the point to where the veterinarian, Dr. Moore couldn't even see her ear drum because there was so much inflammation and she also had roundworms. I was very grateful that this was caught and Dr. Moore was able to treat her with an antibiotic, ear drops and a steroid shot to help her with the inflammation.
A little background on Sophia... My husband and I had originally taken Sophia in after he found her under a dumpster when she was 2 weeks old. She was very sick when she came to us and had the worst ear infection I had ever seen. She had been treated by a local veterinarian with an antibiotic and was making improvements. We were told that she has cerebellar hypoplasia which is a neurological disorder that causes one to have offset balance and were also informed that she's complexly deaf. She was already precious in our eyes but this made her 10 x's more adorable and made us want to love on her even more! We fostered her until we found her a good home that wanted to adopt her. After living with her previous adopted mom she was returned to us due to personal reasons. As soon as Sophia was given back to me I made an appointment with that same vet a few days prior to boarding her at Pet Paradise. She was given a full exam and I was told that she looked perfect and that her ears looked great. I feel that as a pet owner I did everything that a responsible pet owner would do to make certain my kitten is healthy. I was saddened that her vet visit prior to Pet Paradise was overlooked and that she didn't get the proper treatment that she should had received. It also saddened me because this let me know that her initial ear infection as a younger kitten had never been properly treated and never went away. As soon as Sophia was returned back to my husband and I from the previous owner we noticed that Sophia had been scratching behind her ear but being that the vet told us that her ears looked great I thought maybe she just has dry skin plus I would peek into her little ears and from what I could see they looked incredibly clean from where I had been cleaning them.
Had it not been for Pet Paradise Mooresville I know my husband and I would have been sitting in the after hours animal emergency hospital with Sophia as soon as we would have picked her up from Pet Paradise and she probably would have been a lot worse off if it had not been caught when it was. Thank you to the entire team at Pet Paradise Mooresville! I love that there is a veterinarian's office on site. You all...
Read moreI have to update my review. We have boarded with Pet Paradise at other locations with no issues. However we boarded our dog here July 14-20 and made the reservation by phone, the agent and I spoke at length about the city I live in and he asked me to spell it twice. However when I showed up, I had no reservation. The agent had booked me in Tampa Fl instead of North Carolina. Luckily they were able to accomadate us and and he was still able to board. This is not the first time this has happened, several times I have booked camp with phone agents and show up and they didn't have my reservation. When I picked my dog up, several mins before noon he had not had a go home bath I requested, they got my pick up time wrong even though I explicitly told them I would be there right at noon to avoid the extra charge. When I got home, my dog started coughing, and it got worse and worse. I called to ask if they knew about this or had any other sick animals and was told they don't, but boarding is like dropping your kid off at preschool and he could have picked something up from another dog there. (He was/is current on all his shots). I called back after the vet appointment and told them that my dog was in bad shape he definitely got sick there and was on tons of medications, I wanted them to know so 1 they could alert other boarders and 2 so they knew what was going on with Icky. I never recieved a follow up, they never bothered to call to see how he was doing or anything. I spent around $400 to pick up a sick dog who then needed 3 vet appointments 3 rounds of medications and 3 weeks to recover and not a word from this facility. You would think considering he got sick at their location they would call and check on him. But I recieved no follow up. This event really changed my mind about this place and my rating and review reflect that. I love this place. My dog loves this place too. He gets so excited when we pull in the parking lot. We have only been for Camp, but it is obvious how much the staff loves the dogs and Icky always has a great time and comes home tired. Which if you knew my dog you would know was quite an...
Read moreREAD!!! BEWARE...you'll spend thousands at vet due to this facility!!!!!! My dog Jax, has been boarded at Pet Paradise twice within the last 3 months and both times he ended up being extremely sick. Each time I approached management, I'm told it's because I have an older dog. I called multiple times and emailed to check in on him this last time I was gone. It took multiple times to get someone on the phone and they said very apathetically, "I mean I guess he's OK. I haven't heard anything else." Needless to say I was less than pleased with that response. The morning I head home they give me a call letting me know my dog has a cough. (This was the next day after speaking to the other staff member.) Long story short I took him to his vet and he had a bad case of kennel cough. Two days later (over the weekend) he took a turn for the worse and I called all emergency vets around the area (3:30 am Saturday morning) and they wouldn't see him because so many dogs were hospitalized and they did not have room for him. I said in passing he was at Pet Paradise and the individual on the phone said there were multiple dogs already there from that facility!!!! I finally got in at VEG (amazing!!!!) And he had bronchitis and was hospitalized. Keep in mind this was 3 days after picking him up from Pet paradise. I've spent $3k so far on vet bills and he still has a long way to go to recover. Please keep in mind this doesn't include the $1500 from his July 4th stay. (He had pneumonia) Shame on me for believing my dog was the problem. They take zero ownership and are less than concerned on warning their clients. They couldn't even tell me their protocol when an outbreak occurs. Please be careful. What happens to those pets when people can't afford emergency vets? This is not OK! Shut your facility down and clean it, Pet Paradise and tell your clients what's going on! This is bad business and a poor business model. You only care about the buck. Cheers to in-home doggycare. It'll be much safer...
