We watched a youth performance of Jack and the Beanstalk at Chapin Memorial Park. The child actors were from Calvary Christian School in Myrtle Beach and the director, Ashley Love, is a teacher at the school. This was entertaining for all ages. If you missed it there is still time to come watch August 16th 17th 18th @ 630pm each night. Get there early and let the kids play on the adjacent playground. Bring a lawn chair. FREE

Thanks to Erin on the tip for free parking in front of the library. FYI for others, it is angled parking and it is best to turn onto 14th from the main road. They have several porch swings for adults. The playground has a lot of equipment, but is showing some wear. Not a bad park considering most people probably just go down to the beach. Biggest complaint was the noise from the nearby construction.

Located right off the main drag it is very convenient though all of the parking is metered. Playground equipment is decent and the park is pleasant. Definitely not exceptional but a nice place to play with the kids for an hour or two.

This newly remodled park is neat and the equipment for older kids looks fun. My 1.5 year old loved the smallest play equipment for 2-5 years. The slides are small enough that he enjoyed them, and I liked that I didn't have to worry about him falling as much. The one negative thing I would have to say is that, as mentioned in other reviews, there are groups of (what I believe to be) homeless men that sit in the area next to the playground. One man actually approached us and offered us candy. This seemed totally innocuous and he was friendly enough. I don't want to be "that parent", but you just never know. Just be prepared if you take your children here. Pretty cool park and I like that it isn't right next...

Went in today to make a fall door sign. When you're not crafty, but you walk out with fall decor that you're proud of . . .that's a great afternoon!! Also great, books, magazines, services, music, digital services, Chapin Memorial Library has it all! The staff is phenomenal! The professionalism, the knowledge, the customer service that can't be topped. And believe it or not, Wanda not only is a great librarian, but she lead/guided us through our fall craft! Multitalented!! Thank you for a great afternoon. (P.S. I borrowed some...

Although the play equipment and the actual park itself are VERY nice, while we were there a group of people came in that was primarily adults and teenagers. Didn't seem very fitting, but ok whatever....but then the mother lit a cigarette and continued smoking it right in the middle of the playground, even while walking/climbing on the play equipment, while my two little kids were there trying to play. Not going back. It's also paid parking, with no handicapped parking spaces anywhere near the...
