French Market — Attraction in New Orleans

I remember this place being way more unique the last time I was in NOLA, so I made it a point to go again. Half the market is places to eat, the other half is shopping from local vendors flea market style. The vendors all have their prices pretty high, verging on unreasonable and you'll find that the NOLA hospitality is sorely lacking from many of the food workers and the vendors that work the market. Most of what was being sold were cheap quality goods/t-shirts/french masks. Nothing really stood out as being entirely unique except for maybe 3 tables in total. The bathrooms are in the middle of the market and poorly marked. If you ask for help finding it from one of the workers at the market restaurants, expect an attitude. There is a water fountain and bottle refill station by the women's bathroom, but I am not sure how good the quality of the water is if you are drinking it straight from the pipes, the vendors were using the water bottle refill station to wash their hands, instead of going into the bathroom. (I use a life straw bottle with a filtration system) The market itself smells strongly of garbage and alcohol. I wouldn't waste time to go here...

As a lover of flee markets part of me wants to like this place so much and give it 5 stars but this place is a solid 3 in my place.

Part of the market is good selling stuff related to the heritage and culture of Louisiana. But there are a ton of vendors selling a lot of stuff which one can find at any other shop like regular made in china kind of stuff, not a fan of those vendors.

The market also has a lot of vendors selling some good food. We were able to buy some cool stuff made by local artists.
