Ordered and split the roast beef poboy fully dressed with the Cajun jambalaya meat pies and dessert. Let me tell you if the changed the bread to gambinos French bread or even the other big name bread here they could easily have the title for best roast beef poboy in the city. Roll of paper towels brought out with the meal so I knew right away I was in for a treat! The jambalaya is traditional Cajun not creole. And it was phenomenal. Personally the meat pies were not for me. But New Orleans locals and visitors should add this place to the top of their lists for a roast beef poboy and Jambalaya. As a native who moved away and just comes back to visit I can but my personal guarantee as a chef and restaurant owner this is the place to come. Looks like fair pricing on alcohol as well. Add this hidden gem to your list.

We popped in for lunch on a weekend and really enjoyed everything we ordered. It was a cold day and we just wanted to have a quick sit-down meal without braving any line-ups. Voodoo Tavern fit the bill. We shared the Dirty Shrimp (roast beef & shrimp) poboy, crawfish etouffee and jambalaya. The poboy was made fresh and had tons of flavour. They come in 2 sizes (regular & large); they were sold out of the large but the regular size is still plenty of food. The shrimp had a great crust. The jambalaya had a nice kick to it. Great pit stop! Even though we didn't order any drinks, I noticed that their Hurricanes are made with real juice, so I'd love to try that next time.

After a long day of walking, we slipped in to Voodoo Tavern for a bite and a beverage. The drinks premixed cocktail drinks we had were nothing special, but the food was fantastic! We split the Crawfish Etouffee and "Dirty Shrimp" Poboy. If you're like me, you had no idea poboys could have anything except seafood on them. I was pleasantly surprised by the roast beef and gravy that came on the "dirty shrimp" version. The etouffee had a really nice buttery flavor as well. I would definitely pay Voodoo a visit if I lived in New Orleans.

As this is a meeting spot for a tour we took and we figured it would be good to be early to eat n have a cold drink, The day I was there the a.c. was broke and it was VERY HOT inside, they did eventually get it fixed but unfortunately I noticed every table was set with condiments, which is fine, however mayo was also in the mix at every setting and that's just a recipe for food poisoning. The food was OK at best, my favorite part were the frozen chicken strips and fries, because they were fresh and hot, but unfortunately that's not saying much. They seemed to be out of most options on the menu, chili, meat pies, and shrimp poboys, needless to say very upsetting. Especially considering the amount of large deep freezers throughout the place im sure its all frozen food. We were able to try the gumbo which was decent not spicy just a bit of flavor but it almost tasted like it was the last scoop in the pot that had been there for a while. The servers were some what pleasant but definitely could have been a bit more interested in us and our "needs" i did not like that we had to order at the bar even though it was very slow when we first git there. It's unfortunate that we only had 1 day there and that's where we decided to eat, I was disappointed in the lack of authentic New Orleans cuisine we were hoping to find. If it hadn't been for the tour we certainly wouldn't have stayed there. Especially considering the fairly high prices for the low quality of food, and service. And FYI we are not drinkers, at all, so booze certainly didn't run up our tab.it was kinda dirty, and unfortunately only 1 low sitting table which is most desired and accessible by older people with mobility issues, all others were Hightops or the very small bar which was a quarter way occupied with people...

I rarely leave positive reviews, but i was really impressed by the kindness & hospitality of this staff. What we ate was really good too. We came across this place after finishing up a long ghost tour and walking towards Bourbon st. and wanted a little snack before boozing it up. I had my daughter and dog with me and was just gonna grab a poboy to go, while they waited outside. My daughter needed to use the restroom so i asked if it was ok to bring my dog in for a minute, and they said it would even be cool for him to stay inside if i chose to stay and eat here. So i decided to grab a beer as well and had a nice conversation with the owner or manager (sorry i forgot your name bro) as i waited for the food. They even cooked a burger patty for my dog, who usually doesnt even eat or like ground beef. He killed it. Both me and my daughter tried it, and It was a really good patty, i was very surprised by the quality of beef, and out of the 4 other places we went for poboys during our 6 day trip in NO, this was one of the best ones. And I'm not just saying this because of the hospitality. This place was not on my radar of places to eat, but I will make sure to visit every time I'm in the city to try the rest of their menu. Gems are hard to find. Establishments like this are the places that deserve business. Oh.. and allowing my dog, who's not a service animal inside, isn't a normal thing. So, don't go getting all mad at them if they dont allow your dog in. Great job guys,...

We had the pleasure of doing a haunted ghost tour. Well for the ghost tour this was the meet up place/spot. We decided to grab drinks. (We weren’t given our 10% off for purchasing the ghost tour). The bartender was extremely rude. We placed our drink orders. Well I asked her what was in the punch. She started to answer my question but another couple sitting at the bar literally started to ask her questions. She kept answering their questions so I asked her again what was in the punch. She then snaps on me saying “I heard you the first time. Stop asking questions.” Well one of the punches had rum which I don’t like but she poured prior to answering my question. So when she finally answers the question I told I would like the punch without rum. She slams the drink on the counter. Before she could make another my friend suggested that we just switch (she was holding her drink and we intended on just switching. ) the bartender yells no at my friend and makes another drink. She had a terrible attitude for no reason. I would not recommend dealing with her. She was also upset because my friend and myself were on separate tickets. She was really nuts. Good luck if...
