One of the greatest landmarks of postmodern architecture anywhere, Piazza d'Italia was designed by architect Charles Moore, completed in 1978, and meticulously restored in 2018 for the Tricentennial of New Orleans. Piazza d'Italia was featured on the cover of Charles Jencks' classic book on the language of postmodern architecture. A "must see" in New Orleans.

We really enjoy the Piazza d’Italia and love to sit on its shady benches listening to the water features. This is a little realized area and almost never crowded. Originally built to commemorate the contribution of Italian immigrants to New Orleans it was also featured in the 1984 Worlds Fair. This is a nice spot to sit and relax or admire the architecture.

Though the pools were empty when I visited, it was still definitely still worth checking out. I can see how it may not be everyone’s taste, but I found it to be a really fun installation to explore and did not stop smiling during my visit.

Very peaceful calming romantic atmosphere. Would be an ideal choice to propose or a meeting point.

Was locked up when I was there not much to see. I don’t know what this is all about.
