Macy's Backstage — Attraction in New York

This is pretty much a Macys "bargain basement". It is located on the first floor of the mall by the escalator and is all on the one floor. Some aisles are wide enough to go through with a walker and wheelchair, others may be too narrow. They basically sell items at a discount that didn't sell well in the main chain, as well as items and brands that are not usually carried by Macys, ie "As Seen On TV" and car items like steering wheel covers and cell phone holders, and the stock changes over constantly. The store is primarily clothing (separated by type and size), shoes (separated by gender, age and size), purses, some perfumes and makeup, luggage, costume jewelry, household linens etc. They carry name brands like Gucci and Calvin Klein at a deep discounts. Like most bargain stores, buy it when you see it because it may not be there when you return. Also check the item thoroughly, some items may be shop worn or damaged. Their return policy is 30 days with the receipt if you change your mind. The employees try to be helpful but don't ask for something brand specific. The mall has an attached parking garage that charges a fee by time parked. There are handicapped spots in the garage and an elevator to take you to the different floors. Handicap approach from the street is accomplished with a ramp and a power door with a switch. All the stores are accessible via the escalator and elevators. The cashier was very rude and disrespectful with me. 2 days ago I did a big shopping and I asked to the manager is something doesn’t fit me can I return ? He said yes!! So, I went there today because the hat for summer I bought has a hole in it!!! And I didn’t see it when I bought it. So, I wanted to do more shopping and I also return the hat for a new one! Nooooooo the cashier was very rude and said the merchandise here have discounts if you see a hole you can fix in your home! Why you have to bring it here! What!!!! I was like you’re very rude with me, I am the costumer and the manager told me I can return with no problems. After that she said bad words in Spanish and… she doesn’t know but I do speak 4 languages including Spanish! You’re losing one...

This location definitely pales in comparison to the other locations I have shopped at. The design of the place is not cohesive and drains a shopper quickly. Ladies apparel is haphazardly placed about the store which makes it difficult to find things. The shoe department is in disarray and the shoe selection is not very good. The line to the register is one of those "trap" lines where you get caught up looking at the overpriced items conveniently placed on the shelves surrounding you.
