Oasis park is not only an incredibly beautiful and serene place to relax, read, be soothed by the sounds of the ocean waves, and be awed by the spectacular views—especially at sunset—but it is also a very special and symbolic place. In the aftermath of the tragedy and destruction caused by the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001, many people in the surrounding area came together and worked to restore this devastated area of New York City; to cultivate a renewed sense of safety, community, beauty, and solace; to reclaim their neighborhood, to rebuild and restore what those behind the attacks had tried to diminish and destroy. This park is dedicated to their tireless efforts. 🙏❤️ I am sure I am not alone when I say that I hold deep gratitude for all of them, and to the many others who worked hard and sacrificed much to respond, restore, and reclaim the streets and neighborhoods to make them welcoming spaces for the people in our communities: families, friends, and neighbors.

This spot is a hidden gem. At first, it seems like I was trespassing because of all the high-rise buildings along the water. However, the area is not corded off and open to the general public. Much of the site is under maintenance, so don't go with high expectations. Being at the shorelines, you'll see plenty of debris floating along the retaining wall.

This is the best sunset spot in NY. Next to Brooklyn Bridge Park, it’s my favorite park in the city. It’s a little hidden gem. It’s right by financial district yet so serene. Love the view on the bay and the sound of the waves against the wooden dock.
