Pier 76 at Hudson River Park — Attraction in New York

Was being mildly harassed by someone who looked like they had unstable housing. I change locations within the pier to avoid confrontation, moving closer to where a worker was located. The worker immediately clocked my distress without me saying anything or even looking in his direction. Very kindly asked me what happened and relayed it over the walkie talkie, assured me that the man harassing me would be removed promptly and that there are cameras in case anything happens. 30 minute go by, the worker come by again in his car and says he’s going to walk me back to where I was originally sitting because the guy harassing me was gone. I felt extremely validated, seen and safe in that moment. Best part was that they didn’t call the police or use unessecary force to remove the unhoused...

Great spot with tons of space. Very flat great for roller skating.

There is enough room for everyone!

One of the best things about the pier is that the further down the pier you go, the windier it gets. The breeze/gust feels so nice on super hot days.

It’s nice to see everyone doing their own hobbies, hanging out, and zooming around.

The barren, open, brutalist structure lends itself to be quite a wholesome public space.

There are a few portapotties- it would be great if they added a water fountain.

This Pier is a good pier for all sorts of recreational activities. It's usually empty or it gets used for certain events and tiny festivals. I personally usually come to this Pier to practice roller blading and break dancing, since there's plenty of ample space for me to do so. Having beautiful views of the Hudson and NJ-NYC skyline doesn't hurt too. There's nothing on this Pier that stands out but if you're looking for a spot that's pretty lowkey where you may want to practice something away from the hustle and bustle of the city and right on the water, this is the...
