Hudson Yards Hotel NYC Review
I want to start by saying that I am not, normally, one to post negative reviews on any hotel or restaurant. I feel I have no choice in this matter.
However, our stay at the Hudson yards hotel was less than what we had hoped for during our Christmas in NY trip. I am making this post because I do not want anyone else to have the experience we had. We stayed five nights and six days the week before Christmas at the Hudson yards hotel. We spent literally thousands on TWO rooms. It was very cold in New York City the week that we were there. We came in on our third night there to no heat in our room. The front desk gave us a very small space heater for our very large room. That was the best they could do at the time. The very next day we came in from a very cold day in the city to take a shower and had no hot water. We were told they were waiting on a part and it would be fixed before morning. We wake up the next morning to cold water again. Only to be told again they are still waiting on a part. This went on for three days and three nights no hot water only freezing cold water only in the rooms. We could not understand why in New York City we were having to wait three days on a part to get hot water in a hotel that is very near Times Square. On the third day we were given the hotel manager‘s phone number because the girls at the front desk had no idea what to tell customers at this point. I made contact with Jeremy Broderick who is the manager of the hotel and apparently part owner. He met with me personally for nearly an hour and made promises that I should have known at the time, would never come through. I have attached screen shots of his promises that were emailed to me. Basically, he promised a 75% refund of our entire stay. This would mean nearly $2000 coming back to us. Over a month later and after MANY emails demanding payment, we received $551. Not even ONE nights stay! Please imagine the anger we had being in NYC at Christmas with no showers!! We were most definitely NOT the only customers angry over the whole situation. Even as we were checking out, they were checking people in and taking their money without telling them there’d be no hot water! This hotel is terrible. We were there 6 days and not once did they freshen up our rooms or bring fresh towels or even toilet paper. We had to go get it ourselves at front desk! Stay far far away from The Hidson...
Read moreThe hotel is way overpriced for how poor the service is. There’s no hair dryer or microwave. If you want one you can rent them for $28 per night. The rooms have no window in the room, the windows are out in the hallway. My husband got a rash from their sheets/towels and they didn’t do anything about it. In my opinion it’s not worth it for the price especially considering the location. WOULD...
Read moreReally enjoyed my stay. Housekeeping is completed at regular intervals. Room and bedding, very clean. Room as advertised. Location is exceptional, and history of the location makes the stay even better. Window A/c's are iconic New York in the summer. Recommended for anyone visiting, or on holiday. Met Ian, the owner, seems like a very smart businesman, and he's doing...
