The worst experience. On the website, when booking, you are asked to identify a pick up time. I did, I calculated a oversees flight arrival time added time to get through JFK customs, and booked my ride for 1.5 hours after my flight arrival. I booked for 11 pm. I received a confirmation and price. Our small group arrived at JFK and customs was ridiculously long. However, I felt OK, as I realized the ride was booked for 11pm and the email sent indicated that the driver would wait an 45 minutes. Once the 45 minutes was up, there would be a charge of $1.50/minute for the wait time. As 11pm arrived I realized, my booking was for 11pm but, customs would take longer, I connected with the driver, let him know the situation. Then at 11:15 pm, customer service called, I was informed by Camilla that the company would start charging me wait time. When I pointed out, my confirmed booking was for a pick up at 11pm, therefore I still had 30 minutes she was very firm that the time actually was not calculated on my booking time for a pick up at 11pm. She shared the company policy was, 45-90 minutes after the planes arrival time, was the time they started charging. When I asked "why would the booking process ask for a pick up time, confirm the pick up time, send an email with the confirmed pick up time, then ignore the pick up time and focus on the plane arrival time. Anybody traveling internationally understands a planes arrival is not your real arrival time. Customs, baggage claim etc all take a fair amount of time past the landing time. Camilla the customer service rep, could not for the life of her give me a straight answer to my fair question, why at time of booking was I asked what time the pick up would be, I answered, it was confirmed but then ignored when it came to the actual charging time. She reiterated that in the email guidelines it states "past time of plane arrival" I asked again, why I was asked for a pick up time, and the 11pm pick up time was confirmed, we went around in circles. The reality is the process to book was underhanded, not honest. If RIDE Lux, wants to charge past plane time, why ask , what time do you want to be picked up, then you put in a time, then they confirm the pick up time, then ignore it and charge a ridiculous amount. After A long international flight a 1.5 hr wait in a long customs line at JFK, to have to deal with this was not what I wanted to expected. I went into this agreement with the understanding i booked 11pm, I would have a wait grace period then have to pay additional charges. I made this detailed so that IF YOU CHOOSE WHICH i recommend YOU DO NOT to go with this COMPANY, the pick up time you put it will be ignored they company goes on the plane arrival time, not the pick up time you booked and confirmed. The information was clear and concise. We greatly appreciated this aspect of the Ridelux service. Our driver was Juan F. Juan had our flight information and projected time of arrival in hand. Moments after we deplaned, Juan texted us to welcome us to NYC. We responded. Immediately Juan called us and directed us "real-time" to his location outside the terminal. After baggage claim, we followed Juan's directions, and we met him outside the door of the terminal. Juan greeted us cordially, and after brief pleasantries between us Juan loaded our bags into the luxury SUV. We left LGA and we were transported to our hotel near Times Square, transport time approximately 20 minutes in light traffic. Juan was our driver on both occasions. On Thursday afternoon, we checked out of our hotel. Juan texted us at check-out time to notified us that he had arrived at our hotel and was ready to transport us. We loaded up and we were transported to LGA, transport time approximately 35 minutes in moderately heavy traffic. Juan was conscientious and competent in his driving. Let me explain more; -We were flying into LGA but had an international flight out of JFK. The concern we had was that we were traveling with my 4 and 6 year children. Internationally they didnāt require/need car seats so we needed a service that could accommodate that request, the last thing we wanted to do was to lug around extra stuff. This was communicated clearly prior to booking and confirmed the day before booking. They provided booster seats for them for no additional charge. -There were no hidden fees! You know that taxis and black cars can be tricky in NYC with tolls and traffic. Everything was as quoted and we were confident in the process. -The SUV was clean and comfortable. NYC can sometimes get you car sick if the air fresheners are too strong and couple that with the stop and go in traffic but this was not an issue for us at all and the climate was perfect! -Communication was awesome!
