The construction next door has made unloading/loading nearly impossible if you are driving anything larger than a compact car. You will have to back out onto busy Northern Avenue which is just ridiculous.
Additionally if you are in a van and someone parks behind you, you are going to be stuck. I waited 25 minutes last night because someone blocked my van in- there is just no room to maneuver, and backing in off of Northern avenue is also not a possibility.
There is no way to back-in to the loading dock at all, you must parallel park to the loading dock, and walk a cart up a ramp- good luck getting a cart, they are sometimes tricky to find, or are poorly maintained.
The elevator code works about 50% of the time.
The drive in gate has been dismantled, so access is less secure.
Rent was raised twice in less than 2 years.
The hours of access or THE WORST. 7pm and you're out of luck.
I'm incredibly unhappy with the quality of the grounds and the lack of accessibility. I was never given notice that security gates were being removed or that the loading lot would become nearly inaccessible, yet my rent increased twice, when the building became less accessible and secure.
You might get a good deal on space here because the facilities are so abysmal, it would work out for you if you never stored something larger than a few...
Read moreFirst experience with a storage unit and it was incredibly frustrating, to say the least. I finally moved out yesterday after 5 months. As others have mentioned, it's super easy to sign up online and book your unit. This is probably where the pros end.
Now for the cons:
Parking. What a disaster.... the lot is incredibly tiny to begin with, so if there's a moving truck already there, good luck. However, there has been constant construction happening next door, so the parking lot is non-existent. The last few times I've come here, I had to find street parking. When moving my stuff out yesterday, we had to park on Northern Blvd blocking the bike lane cause the construction guys wouldn't let us in to the parking lot, and there was a giant truck already there. One of the elevators has been down for months so you need to use the one at the far end of the building. I had a unit on the 6th floor. It's advertised as climate controlled but that's debatable. I went there over the summer and it was HOT. Prices went up after a few months, to be expected. But when there are no improvements being made along with the inconvenience of no parking and elevators being down for months, this place just is not worth it.
Save your money and go to any of the other storage places...
Read moreThis review is for 3108 Northern Blvd next door and they don't have an individual Google reviews page. This storage does false advertising. They are not climate controlled. They keep it at a consistent 82 degrees Fahrenheit when other storages have their temperature at around 70- 75 degrees Fahrenheit. I nearly passed out on move in day from how hot the facility is. I store clothing and sell online and some of the clothing has developed mold and damage due to the high temperature and humidity. If I am going to be paying $400 a month for a unit I would expect air conditioner and proper cooling. I noticed a pile of trash and debris that was not disposed of for two weeks. There are rat traps everywhere for the mice and rat infestation. I saw a rat scampering across the grated cieling part of the unit. I'm afraid they may damage the clothes. If the temperature does not drop to 75 degrees and the rat problem gets addressed I am leaving. Stop the false advertising these units are NOT...
