Update Friday June 20th 1:36 PM back with Woody the Catahoula. Better day today, the unstable lady left as we arrived. There was a dude with a Golden Retriever, the same one that had left his poop the other day. Today he left the door open. Luckily for me Woodys recall is very good and I was able to keep him away from the door. We also met some cool older poodles. 1:10 PM cool viszla great coat, a bit shy. Update 12:54 PM today I am with Meeko the Bernadoodle from Flatbush & woody a Pittie Catahoula mix. We practiced a sit stay in a high stimuli environment which is the park, and observed the behavior of the other animals and & people. There was a person who was not focused on their dog, a golden retriever who pooped & he forgot to pick it up. I was lucky my dogs did not get to it. Update 3:01 PM a mentally disturbed woman about 4”11 in height Caucasian was very agitated. She reinforced aggressive behavior with food. I am working with woody and Shaq 2 very powerful dogs. The distinction is important because last time I was here I had an odd interaction with 2 lab puppies. I was very confused as to why she was so aggressive with puppies. But needless to say the problem is not the dogs. The Sirius Dog Run in Kowsky Plaza is a vital urban space for dogs. My observations here consistently highlight the importance of structured etiquette for a positive environment. This space, with its refreshing pool—a true blessing for dogs in summer—is prime for applying sound behavioral principles. To ensure all enjoy this park, consider these key points: Smart Entry Pre-Entry Exercise: A short walk before entry helps dogs manage energy, leading to calmer, better interactions. Prompt Leash Off: Remove leashes immediately inside. This prevents anxiety and promotes natural dog-to-dog greetings. Observe First: Watch the ongoing play before engaging. Let dogs interact naturally. Positive Interactions Reinforce Good Play: Acknowledge calm, reciprocal play with quiet praise. This encourages more of it. Interrupt Conflict: If play escalates (stiff bodies, growls), a quick sound (like a clap) can stop it. Separate dogs briefly to de-escalate. No High-Value Items: Avoid toys or treats here; they can cause guarding issues. By following these simple, effective guidelines, we ensure the Sirius Dog Run remains a safe and enjoyable spot for all our dogs, especially with that fantastic pool for summer fun.

During our impromptu tour of Tribeca dog parks, the Sirius Dog Run stood out for its location amongst the trees and elevated placement. All the essentials: fountains for the dogs, water and benches for humans were well-designed and well-used. Highly recommend this place for your pup, and for you!

This is my pups favorite dog run. Has a little pool that can be filled with water. Was never too busy anytime I've gone.
