Do you want to get lost in the high culture?🥦 The House of Cannabis, a multisensory journey through 10 immersive exibitions that include art, music, fashion, social reform and cultivation just opened in NYC.🆕

5th floor is a private soace used for events.

HIGH CULTURE – THE JOURNEY BEGINS

DISORIENTATION: Step into the green abyss where audiences are engulfed by an explosive multi-media experience celebrating the storied history of cannabis and the tremendous impact a single plant has on influencing culture, exploring 6000 years of history highlighting iconic and turbulent moments through the lens of cultural impact.

THE EUPHORIUM: A backstage pass transports guests to the ultimate Cannabis Music Festival. Mind-blowing sight, sound and motion engulfs the space as audiences are immersed in a hazy, euphoric experience celebrating the unique connection between music and the plant. They journey into genres including hip hop, rap, jazz, country, reggae and rock – iconic hits imagined and inspired by the artists' relationship to Cannabis. Potvin blends legacy techniques with new technology to create a unique textural and visual narrative told through lighting artistry.

THE FORUM: The examines stories of millions impacted by oppressive, racially charged marijuana law enforcement. The films are directed by Christian Padron and produced by Scheme Engine, a prominent BIPOC owned agency.

THE JOINT: THE JOINT is a rotational gallery space honoring artists and makers at the nexus of cannabis culture from the worlds of fashion, music and art. Hip hop culture plays a significant role in shaping both sneaker and cannabis culture.

THE PLANT – A 6000 YEAR JOURNEY

THE GROW: Exploring all cultivation aspects of the plant, The Grow is comprised of three light and temperature-controlled chambers featuring live plants. The journey takes participants through the magical life cycle beginning with mothers and clones, to propagation and the grand finale, the flowering or budding phase.

THE MICROVERSE: Guests step inside the cannabis atom where they view the other-worldly universe that exists inside of this magical molecule.

THE OLFACTORY: Olfactory senses come alive through the magic of terpenes. Smell the sensation of lust, laughter, energy, sleep, creativity and calm all central to the benefits of cannabis.

SEED TO SOUL: Famed rapper, Currency’s, original, evocative poetic lyrics comprise this interactive video word installation. Audiences are immersed in motion and light as their shadows become living poetry.

ASCENSION – THE JOURNEY CRESCENDOS

THE SPOT: Laugher. Connectivity. Thought.  Enjoy the communal nature of cannabis at THE SPOT, an imaginative, interpretation of a park. Designed to visually communicate the importance of an urban forest, a giant tree installation spans the room with extensive roots serving as seats and tables for rolling classes, talks and entertainment.   An immersive and provocative art activity encourages guests to share their thoughts with others and explore others’ thoughts.

THE HYPNODROME: Is it possible to feel high without being high? Created by Benjamin Gordon, a visual artist, composer and programmer exploring the intersection of AI, psychedelics and consciousness. (Drake and The Weeknd), “HIGHER SELF” is a fully engulfing hypnotic journey that induces the sensation of being high through visual and audio abstraction.  Conceived as a “guided levitation” guests are moved to a transcendent state through this multi-sensory experience where the gradual accession to being high is replicated through...

My partner and I recently bought tickets for this museum, and it was a terrible experience. When we arrived it was not clear where we were supposed to go and who we had to speak to. We noticed that it was an environment where many of the people there all knew each other. There was a DJ and some vendors. We asked one of the workers about the museum and showed them that we had tickets. They were unsure where we had to go but decided to ask around. We saw them ask about 3 people and eventually got the answer that the museum was closed.

We spent $40 each on tickets through AXS only to learn that the museum is closed. Goes without saying this is bad business practice to have tickets for sale on a 3rd party vendor/application when the museum is permanently closed. They even told us that we were the second set of people to come in and say something. We saw the building had 4 floors so we figured while we were there, we would check out the other floors. As we walked up the stairs, we saw two women walking down who thanked the man for letting them see the upstairs. We figured, “oh Great, if those two got to check out the other floors, then we probably can, especially since we bought tickets”. The man did not let us go upstairs even after we explained that we bought tickets for the museum. It’s one thing if nobody was allowed upstairs but that clearly wasn't the case and it happened in front of our faces that two other people were allowed upstairs. Genuine insult and poor customer service. There were people coming up the stairs as we walked down them too, so I can only wonder if they were allowed or not.

We then left very disappointed. Only for a woman to wave at us to come back inside. Turns out she is someone who used to work there and asked us to forward our tickets to her so she can assist us with a refund. Therefore, the best customer service we got was from someone who did NOT even work there! The cannabis community is normally a very welcoming one, especially in New York. We felt like outsiders walking in and were treated as such. Do NOT waste your time...

Sub par at best. I came expecting something amazing but ended up arriving at a messy place. The vibe seemed forced and the staff does little to nothing to help you out or is rude or are completely unwilling to fully help out or interact (the exceptions would be like 3 staff memes that were willing to interact and vibe). Also the VIP tickets are a scam, they promised on the site that it promises the following: “Skip the line and begin the experience through a private entrance - A custom THC tote bag including a branded lighter, rolling papers, and more” but all you get is an empty tote bag with matches…i honestly gave those away to the man selling weed outside…total rip off…. They have the vision and try but don’t seem committed and the tickets feel like a scam. The only decent thing is the lounge but even that seems bland for the seasoned stoner

Also these people need some organization the experience was not that much pleasing like you get lost but cant find your way around. They surely are trying to sell something that’s not 100% real yet but could turn out to be something. So readers don’t buy the VIP thinking it’s gonna be something to tell cuz it’s a scam all together and if the museum reads this you gotta step up your game and big time! Having the people navigate at random kinda ruins the experience, you got something, now get cooking and making this the best thing possible cuz right now it’s a beautiful concept but just a concept mainly targeted to the airhead stoner or fad stoner not the stoners who are serious about their smoking and weed habits and are knowledgeable, you can fool a fool but not an intelectual stoner…take this review as a...
