If you grew up in New York City, then youâve probably heard of Pearl River Mart. This store has been around since the early 70s and is an iconic NYC store. As a teen, I remember going on many a shopping trips to Pearl River and finding lots of fun, one of a kind items. As a college student, Pearl River Mart helped me to decorate my room with inexpensive affordable finds and dĂŠcor. And now as an adult, I visit Pearl River Mart whenever I need to find a gift or even whenever Iâm in the neighborhood. The store offers Asian inspired items (fashion, toys, dĂŠcor and snacks) and is quite eclectic. Itâs a great place to explore and browse.
Pearl River Mart has moved around a few times and now has locations in Tribeca and Chelsea. The Tribeca location is quite large. Thereâs an area upstairs that showcases artwork from local artists. The exhibits here change every so often. Downstairs, in the basement, are toys, kitchenware and small dĂŠcor. The main floor has clothing, dining ware, snacks, decorations, jewelry and plants.
The selection here is amazing. And by shopping here Iâm helping to support a local and family owned business. Whatâs...
Read moreAbsolutely stunning, magnificently decorated in which one feels, they traveled half way around the world to China. An assortment of many useful items, perhaps some hidden treasures. For anyone and everyone, who appreciates the mysteries and realities of the far East.
Again, as my first master would teach, it's only a secret as long as you have no knowledge of it. Well kinda, not necessarily completely so, or accurate for the general public. Because truthfully, there are still many, tremendously deep secrets, to the totality of the deepest reality. Unfortunately, there are prohibitions to guard the mysteries of life. Therefore, if you are new to the search/quest of the highest knowledge, this is the perfect place to start. Clue: follow the Seven Stars. đâŻď¸đ Absolutely Like...
Read moreI bought a $18 wok and it looked great before actually using it. It completely disintegrated and rusted on the first use!!
I made dumplings on a bamboo steamer and the whole wok was covered in huge ring of smelly brown rust leaving so much sediment in the bottom of the wok after boiling water in it. So unhealthy and dangerous!!
Some may say it serves me right for spending $18 on a cooking vessel. đ¤ˇđťââď¸ But I say it shouldnât be that hard to make and sell quality items.
EDIT Changing my review to 5 stars due to the fact that in about two hours after posting this review someone from customer service got in contact with me and provided a wealth of information and how-to videos on taking care of carbon steel items, but ultimately they were kind enough to take the item I purchased back.
Since the incident, they are carrying a superior line of cookware which proves Pearl River Mart really listen to their customers.
My interactions were very pleasant! No attitude or complications from any of the owners/clerks. I was shocked and very happy with the way my experience was handled. Thanks Lance, Joanne and everyone...
