A feeling that some one cares, is always good. When you are tired and especially wish to rest, you may be looking for a place that does not only give you physical rest but also gives you some.peace of the mind.
In the time square of Manhattan, this place for you is the church of St Mary the Virgin. This is an open door church which welcomes all the persons without discriminating on their faith. Among many churches around, this church showed a gesture of humanity, the real teaching of the Jesus Christ
The interior and exterior of the church is really beutiful and you can spend the time inside with a peaceful and quite environment. However, being a prayer place, the visitors are expected to maintain a pious decorum of the place and there are some due restrictions which one is expected to follow when you are in. I suggest all to take an advantage of the place when you are at times square...
Read moreI love this Church. I worked in the Times Square area and would frequent this church during lunch. I spent time praying and lighting candles in their separated rooms within the church. Some of my darkest moments were spent praying there for Gods help and when I would leave to go back to work with tears in my eyes, I would feel so much better. I was really moved by the service itself, the chanting and singing during the Solemn Mass felt so meaniful. Thank you Dr.David Hurd & choir! The sermon given by Brother Jim Woodrum, SSJE was thoughtful, comforting and helpfully resonated with these days & times. I certainly plan to attend another service at Saint Mary's in the...
