Newport Pawn Shop — Attraction in Newport

UPDATE: Ok so Monday morning I got a call from the owner Jacob! He was so great in wanting to know our side an employees an he read review He wanted to fix any problem we had. He gave me Some background as to understand some people & said he had more money waiting for us cuz he knew our silver was legit. My husband an I felt so relieved as we never expected the situation to get fixed. What an awesome guy! Thank you Jacob!!

We brought in pure Troy 10 ounce silver bar, which we have borrowed against before. I had called to ask ahead making sure they take it, yes paying just under spot. They did acid test than phone call a said due to age (Less than 10 yrs) lol they would pay do $200! Needs cleaned so I guess extra $110 to clean an buff it. These guys watched to much pawn stars. Greedy. I understand a business needs to make money however they will low ball you wether you sell or pawn. I sold a weed eater to them for 40 (needed the money and that's all they would offer, regret that decision) which they have priced at 125. That's quite a mark up. I also have a newer phone I was trying to sell to them and they go on eBay and find prices to low ball you however he was showing me parts only phones that sold for very little. That said they do have some items that are reasonably priced. Just don't expect much of your trying to sell or get a loan on an item. Side note. I know of a individual that knows the owner and the owner arranged for them and a jeweler to meet after hours because the jewelry was possibly hot. this pawn shop is not like a regular old pawn shop that's portrayed on reality tv or those shitty ones you see in a dark alley with weirdos. no, this pawn shop is like hollywood of damn pawn shops. the customer service was without a doubt an amazing interaction. the guys here are so laid back an chill, and they are great people too. they had 2 lugers i wanted to see. the first one was from 1916 with engravings and it was beautiful. the second one was a authentic nazi ruger from 1931. and the guy explained the history behind the item and it amazed me honestly. i am a big history guy and the fact i got to hold these guns from the past still amaze me thinking about it when i write this. thank you so much newport pawn shop for this dope experience. these guys are truly changing the face of what pawn shops are. shout out big time to the guy who...
