I'm not a fan at all of the Colisuem! I've went there twice since I moved to South Carolina. The first time was for a hockey game, which I felt was personally over priced and for the Donald Trump rally a few weeks back. When I went to the hockey game, it was defiently a different experience. Like I mentioned above, I feel like it was over priced. I couldn't even understand what the guy was saying the entire game. I don't know if his mouth was too close to the microphone or what. I couldn't understand a thing. I also didn't like the fact ever second I had cow bells ringing. I would never go back even if someone paid me. Maybe if I could actually hear to be able to understand what was going on a little I'd feel differently.
When we went to the Donald Trump rally, I have to admit I'm about 50/50 on it. I've went to one in WV before he was President and I felt it was SO much better and more organized!! The outside here wasn't God awful. They had a solid line up, which wasn't bad. A lot of people cut line still though. They would have friends or family members hold a spot in line and they'd just up there. That's not fair for anyone and very poorly managed. I liked they had people walking around asking if you're registered to vote, etc. That was nice and have the big screen up was also a huge plus. Although I have to ask, why do people think they can take lawn chairs in? I mean how dumb can people be? I'm sorry, but do you really think they'll let you do that? That's insane! The inside in my opinion was a disaster. We got there around 9:30am and were kinda far back in line. Well we made it to the floor, very very close to the front. In WV the first two rows were reserved for people who donate big money. Behind him were coal minors. They had no seats on the floor, it was standing room only which was stupid. We had some women near us who thought the world revolved around them and decided to sit down causing the biggest fire hazard ever. Well security finally saw them and made them get up. But somehow they brought in I'm guessing a comforter from the hotel. It was insane!!! One decided to sit back down and be stupid. It was a huge mess. The music was horrible, and way too loud. Someone should have been speaking the majority of the time to get your mind off the long wait. And even when someone spoke it was hard to hear for someone people.
I personally feel they're just there to make a buck off people. Food should not have been allowed in period. You could have gotten food outside.
Basically I will put it this way. I will...
Read moreThe Arts Center was great. Would recommend seeing anything you like there. A great venue for getting a decent seat. Staff was helpful, Seats were comfortable and had decent theater amenities.
The Coliseum, was standard. Are seats were changed( don’t know who’s decision whether artists, managers or venue, so whatever). We got the run around being ushered to the next stall for our tickets. It wasn’t a fun hunt after going into the third entrance and being told our tickets were with another person. Seemed like ice was still under floor, it was COLD. 80 outside, about 58-62 F where we were (13th row). I bought a hoody there, was in pants and a long sleeve shirt and still relied on movement to stay warm. Seats got uncomfortable after an hour and I really appreciated the ability to get up and walk after every bands hour set or just standing with crowd for sections. Ingress as far as hallway space is great, wide and open, never felt tight even with a rush between sets. Egress afterwards was quick to get out and to car. Seat spacing is tight, I was touching the people to my left and right, plus if sitting straight up, my knees would brush the back of the person in front of me and my toes would occasionally bump their chair back as I adjusted for comfort. I’m 5’11” and 135 pounds on a heavy day. Maneuvering to our seats down the row was not easy. Side shuffle as the people had to stand up for us. Any balance issues and you were falling on someone. Saw that a few times as show progressed. Amenities were standard theater stuff and nobody was hawking anything on foot or during show inside seating area. Wait for food, drinks, alcohol were not bad and relied mostly on general peoples ability to queue up. Would go and see more shows, but will dress in layers and either wear padded hunting pants or try bringing in a seat pad, which is probably against the rules as I didn’t see anyone with one. Had plenty of rules about no bags and others. If trying to bring anything in, I would definitely recommend checking out the rule list, plenty of security and other personnel milling about and in crowd at all times. Even spotted a few plainclothes members with microphone, earpiece and no visible walkie-talkie, all had exact same setup and would make rounds through the area as...
Read moreWent to see Jimmy Buffett on 4/6/18. People arrived on the parking lot many hours early, as usual, but there were not nearly enough porta-potties to accommodate so many thousands of people (lines were 50 people deep in some places) Gate was understaffed and handled poorly (security barely keeping up then no second gate for presenting tickets, ticket takers would get behind then be yelling for people to stop (as it would be very easy to not realize they were even there and walk on by). Then inside the building no employee in sight to direct us (I'd never been there) and no janitorial staff in sight to clean up spills on a glossy floor...so I managed to slip and fall in what turned out to be a large puddle (over 3ft across) of beer. I smelled like beer the rest of the show and saw several other people slip and one gentleman fall. Gloss floor combined with drink sales can be hazardous, at least need more astute staff on top of clean up. We had floor seats (over $150 per ticket)...seats were just a little too tight (yes, tighter than usual at this type of event/venue...couldn't really sit or stand comfortably.) The staff came out in droves at the end of the show. Multitudes of staff making sure everyone got out as quickly as possible...no loitering to wait for the crowds backed up at the exits to thin out...we were pushed out in the wrong direction (opposite the direction of our car). So,overall, terrible crowd control, terrible service, terrible planning. The staff that was there before the very end did a good job, there just weren't enough of them and they were poorly placed (understaffed, poorly managed). Luckily the crowd at a Buffett show is fairly mellow and even seemed to be helping the employees. Loved the show. Didn't love the venue. Beautiful facility, could have been so...
