Treasure Hut — Local services in North Charleston

We have been a customer of Treasure Hut for almost two years now. Medford, the owner operator, has been an invaluable resource in answering any and all our questions even guiding us to other businesses that have what we have sought when he hasnt, which is rare, all the while being one of the easiest going pleasant and extremely knowledgeable professionals we have conducted business with.

Treasure Traders , TT's, is one of the rare businesses that still values their own word and honors deals made on a handshake ( metaphorically as all our business with TT has been conducted via technology and been via one of their terrific sales groups).

It is VERY important to understand how adept Treasure Traders is in applying technology in example; the online market places mentioned above; Medford has created various "channels" of what TT's offers of their own merchandise and even invites OTHER professionals and their businesses, via TT's hosting and safeguarding their business performs as in house administrators of their market groups.

These digital market places have been made available to the professionals and their businesses that TT's pre-screens, vetts, approves and monitors to standards that make doing business within Medford's pervue an extremely satisfying experience. By selecting the other participants included in Medfords TT groups he leads in harnessing the power of online virtual market places, he is excellent in communications over the various messaging and social media platforms and hasnt forgotten the ease and power of just calling you up and talking the old fashioned way over the phone! Their packing & shipping is the best packing we have ever seen. One of the first items purchased, for our business office, was a fragile figurine. Medford packed it as he does.. very well. This box arrived with one side of the box literally melted off from being water logged and a corner looked as if it had been turned into an accordion !

SOMETHING traumatic ..I dare say violent occurred to this box during transit even though it was appropriately and clearly marked in LARGE BOLD red lettering "FRAGILE" ON ALL SIDES. Well, that common directive when shipping fragile items was not adhered to by the shipping agent and believe it or not..but... this very fragile and irreplaceable figurine was NOT damaged in ANY way!!!

We were truly stunned as we carefully disengaged the remnants of the outter box and then into the inner chamber to disengage other packing media that included bubble wrap and even those newer more modern larger air pillows to find this item in perfect shape!!

No cracks. No chips....it was remarkable and I did take pictures as I opened it because I was sure the item would be destroyed and wanted to show Medford, as I knew he would make right what he could via credit, refund or helping me to track down a similar item, and that he always insures the packages thus pictures are needed for a claim and well....I did not have to do ANY of that because of Medford applies the best damned packing strategies I have ever seen.

TT's even has begun to tap the specialized knowledge that is unique to many of Medford's professional peers, who participate in his marketplaces, by inviting his members with the opportunity to share their decades of experience in offering continuing education and mini courses that these erudite members create and then share with whomever in the group choose to participate with and thus creating a very supportive environment to enhance our knowledge professional to professional.

Items are ALWAYS as pictured, as described, if it required testing for verification of identification and or authentication the item is always true to what TT says it is: Impeccable Integrity. Period. You can shop at TT, IRL and online, and conduct business with Medford in total confidence that you are in caring, well educated and experienced business hands.

Edit**: I went in a couple more times and the employee in this review was extremely professional and very helpful. They acknowledged their quality of service and I'm pleased to say that after help from one other employee, I left happy and I will be returning. If anything else besides their great gems and jewelry, they are definitely thorough and knowledgeable as well.

Went in and asked to see specific gemstones. The employee at the front said "sure thing, we have one right here." And pulled it out before I pointed out another. Then I asked if I could see them. He pulled them out, clutched it in His hands, read the price (which I could read from beyond the glass), and then put it back. He did this twice after I explicitly asked to see the object.

Then I verbalized, "you know, I actually wanted to see it myself." And he responded with "its alright, man." And did not show me anything else even though I was clearly looking at others with interest. He didn't bother to show me any more either, even when I said "man those are nice emeralds."

Then he told my brother to "come back when he gets paid."

We were ready to buy, and as business owners we like to support other small businesses, but this employee seemed aloof and managed to change our warm, yet hesitant, purchasing demeanor into cold indifference and so we left.

I was inquiring into higher ticket items and he didn't even let me see them. He read the prices and put them away fast even after I reiterated my interest in them. Not sure why.

These unnecessary subpar customer service experiences are a shame, since Treasure hut has such quality products and I have enjoyed my experiences there...

Wonderful and personal service with NO upselling whatsoever. My girlfriend and I (20 year old male) shopped here for jewelry last night and quickly found ourselves blown way by attentive and personally helpful customer service. This was our first time shopping for jewelry as a couple and the staff made it an inviting, no pressure experience that became increasingly tailored to our specific preferences as the night went on and we and the staff started to understand what my girlfriend and I’s taste were. We looked at many rings and were able to try on any we liked without pressure or rushing. The rings we tried on were mostly from our request but there were a few suggestions made by the staff that we absolutely loved and it was clear that the suggestions were not motivated by the price of the piece. We were even able to get our fingers sized here and got a chance to learn about jewelry as a whole as we shopped. I can not stress enough how lovely an experience this was for us and how kind the staff are here. At no point did we feel judged as unserious customers for our young age or taken advantage of. At the end of the night we bought our first piece of genuine jewelry ever here and are absolutely in love with it. We will 100% be coming back here to find more beautiful pieces to cherish and take any pieces of jewelry that need fixing or resizing here as we get more to add to our...
