The kids love it and so do I. I’ve been going to Golden Corral since I was very little. My great-grandma used to take my brothers and I every Sunday after church, in NC. What is at the buffet just really depends on the day. They pretty much always have steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese, meatloaf, spaghetti, pizza, salad, fruits, bourbon street chicken, fish, stuff for hard tacos, some soups, carrot cake, ice cream, sugar free red jello, bread pudding, fried chicken, fried okra, yeast rolls & sweet honey butter, pulled pork, greens, green beans, sweet potato casserole, an assortment of pies (the flavors vary but I’ve seen Coconut lemon, lemon meringue, I think apple and blueberry so far., brownies, cookies, fudge, and some chocolate dipped desserts as well, the last time we went they had barbecue sauce ribs which were delicious, and cheddar cheese biscuits. The kids love the cheddar cheese biscuits and the rolls. For months they made a huge batch of banana pudding, then the last couple of times we went they didn’t make it. They made the pudding in small bowls instead. But it didn’t taste like the banana pudding they normally make in the larger batch. I do wish there were more sugar free options when it came to the desserts. I won’t be able to eat much from the dessert anymore due to being told to not eat a lot of sugary foods. Which makes me sad because I love bread pudding, banana pudding, and carrot cake. It would be nice to see more diabetic friendly and low carb friendly options that are still southern and delicious. My kids love the fruits and last time we went there was watermelon. That was the first time we had seen watermelon since we started taking them. The toppings for the ice cream aren’t always out, so that’s hit or miss. It normally costs us around $50-$60 (give or take) for a family of 4-5. 1-2 Adults, 3 kids ages 5,7, and 3. My kids love getting ice cream and other desserts every time we go. One time we went there was a traveling magician, and he put on a small show for some of the tables with children. We enjoyed his small performance, and it was nice to have some sort of normalcy for a change. We have no complaints so far, and will continue to take our children every once in awhile. They said that Golden Corral is one of their favorite...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this location last night for dinner only to be met with increased prices, decreased service, and worst quality food possible. Purple and brown steaks, rock hard hush puppies and biscuits, and certain food items that tasted and felt like they had been sitting since their lunch shift. Notable mentions: the soup on the buffet bar that had other items floating in them, the dirty plates that were expected to be used by the salad bar, and the disgusting bathroom. I ended up only eating mashed potatoes and a plate of spinach (without dressing because the dressings looks suspicious and the toppings should’ve been in the trash earlier in the day.) My husband said the best items he ate were the potatoes and stuffing because they were the only food items that weren’t hard, cold, or tasted like they were from lunch. Our waitress ignored us and didn’t bring us refills until we were about to leave, my husbands drink was in a large to go cup, while mine was in a tiny plastic restaurant cup. The waitress saw us sit in a small corner alone, because we wanted to be in a quiet area and she still decided to sit people ontop of us. Needless to say, she received no tip as she did nothing to earn one. Upon asking for a manager while there, no one was ever sent to our table and I was never put in touch with anyone. I called and an assistant manager said she would try to get me in touch with management and find out what happened. Always trust the customer first, rather than your outlandish waitresses and staff. The terrible reviews will keep building up and this restaurant won’t be here forever. I can’t fathom why the staff wouldn’t care more about their customers when the customers are the reason they’re still open despite the terrible food and service, and allowing them to...
Read moreI'd give them zero stars if it would let me. Went here last night with the family after a long flight from the west coast. Should have asked for a refund and walked out right after paying. Place was a disaster. Food, napkins and yuck all over the floors. Most if the unoccupied tables were a mess. They only had one poor server working who could not keep up with the mess. I must say though, she was Amazing! She was clearing all the tables, handling everyones drinks, and cleaning up messes all over the restaurant All By Herself, yet she was the friendliest person there. Smile on her face and attentive to our drink refills the entire time we were there. I should have got her name, she was incredible. The food buffet looked like a bomb went off. All the prep people behind it, including the manager were not happy looking. The salad bar was empty and a mess the entire time we were there. All the fresh carved meats were cold. The guy serving them said they were on hot plates and that's how they were, but didnt seem to care. All of the fried, baked, and smoked chicken was very over cooked and dry. All of the food workers, including the manager, were also just putting the fresh (and I say that lightly) cooked food and soups right on top of the food that had been sitting there. They were not rotating it. Nor were they keeping the areas clean. The gal at the dessert area was grumpy and unfriendly. Pies were in disarray, the scoop ice cream tasted freezer burned and the cones were stale. The toppings were all over the place. No one was cleaning up or making sure it looked presentable. Ever see a grade school lunch room after the kids have finished eating? That is clean compared to this Golden Corral. My first time visiting one and my last. The corporation should...
