Fair warning for those who have had legitimate Hawaiian poke bowls, this is NOT going to necessarily scratch that itch. It's definitely the hipster version of poke bowls. You can get their custom bowls, or build your own. It's fantastic to see all of the options available. You can chose from, and add all kinds of bases, toppings, protein, sauces, with only a few options adding to your cost. Be very aware of their spicy symbols, it's no joke. I will say that the inside of the shop doesn't feel very inviting as it is very sparse, with few decorations. In addition, there's a definitive lack of direction regarding their ordering. While waiting for an employee to take my order, with no one else in line or waiting, someone else came up and grabbed the employee's attention. It was very frustrating to be ignored by an employee who then just immediately addressed someone who had walked up after me.

There is finally a fresh food option for Charleston. They also have vegetarian and vegan options. I ended up taking something from the menu rather than making it myself. If you do end up making it yourself, You get to choose your base and the toppings. The only thing that upset me a bit, though, was the restaurant’s lack of responsibility for helping the environment. If you dine inside, you are still served your food in plastic containers. After you are done, you just throw the plastic containers away in one of their trash cans. One is labeled recycling, and the other is trash. Unfortunately no one reads and people use both as trash cans. I suggest investing in some reusable dishes or at least biodegradable dishes to serve people who dine in rather than creating more plastic waste. Note: I got really sick after eating here my second time, that is why I changed my rating to 3 stars.

This place was amazing! Fast service, knowledgeable staff, and fantastic flavor! We did a build your own and our friend got the High Tide, and each one was as fresh and flavorful as the last. Great open atmosphere, easy parking, and a chill vibe inside. My proteins were the spicy salmon and spicy tuna and they were definitely sushi quality in freshness and taste. The masago is salty and bright, and my favorite sauce out of what I tasted is for sure the coconut ginger. My husband had the sweet soy for his sauce and it was just the right balance of salty, tangy, and sweet! For the equivalent of what was essentially 6 sushi rolls (for me and my husband having 2 bowls between us) we paid 30 bucks and...that is a spectacular deal, come on now lol We are 100% coming back here, and I can't wait to try more combinations!

5 STARS - All the way! The fish - fresh The options and combinations - endless The location - spotlessly cleaned/maintained The service - quick Prices - Reasonable! (Comparable to chipotle)

The one negative - The younger guy behind the counter wasn’t much help as far suggestions as I’d explained that it was my first time. My questions were left unanswered ie “So would you recommend the marinated salmon or the regular salmon and choose my own sauce,” was responded with “I’m not sure, it’s up to you.” I would have liked a little more expertise along the lines of “if you’re going for a sweet and sour combination, the sweet soy on top of the spicy salmon paired with fresh ginger on pineapple is one of my favorites.” Instead, I was left awkwardly looking at the overhead menu and imagining flavors. However, the manager came out unwarranted and did a wonderful job answering my questions and sent me on my way with a wonderful meal. Still gets 5 stars because it’s to be expected with younger/inexperienced staff at a restaurant that’s only been...

Edit: Unfortunately the past couple visits to Poke Bros has not been what it used to and is honestly so upsetting since I have been coming here for so long… The biggest reason being the younger lady up front has had a really bad attitude… I am used to seeing the owner/manager who is always so pleasant and always smiling. The past couple of times me and my family have gone the younger lady has served us and has been very unpleasant. Almost as if she has no desire to even be there or be nice to the customers. She is short when asking for extra of something and always says “that will cost you extra” (even when you know it’s an extra charge). She is very unprofessional and rude.

I would say the Poke bowls themselves are always good except sometimes the Salmon can taste fishier than other times. Overall food is always good though and is better than other places I have been to. Keep in mind it is on the...
