I went to The Dip for the first time last night to see a show, I had such a great experience! My friend I was going with had a foot injury so I reached out on Facebook a week before to see if there was anything they could do about possibly holding a seat for us, or at least for my friend, I received a response right away that said absolutely they could save 2 seats for us at the bar. I checked in a few days before just to confirm it was all a go and again received a message right away stating to just give our names and we will be brought to our seats. I was a little skeptical this would actually happen because I understand things fall through the cracks. To my surprise when we gave our names we were walked to our seats right at the bar that had been reserved. I was so relieved and so grateful!! The venue itself was great! Everyone who worked there was so nice and approachable. I felt right at home! The sound and lighting was perfect! We both had so much fun! The venue itself is so up close and personal we were able to take photos with the lead singer and even chat with him for a while after the show! We were both so happy with our experience and will be...
Read moreEveryone says the Dip is a legend, but I've been there myself. It seems unlikely that I could have found the equivalent of Lorna Doone while sober, and I assure you, that is true. I attempted to take several photographs but they were very blurry, you could only make out the walls and maybe a beer tap. It is difficult to believe that so many people have difficulty believing in the difficulties of belief. I've heard people say that The Dip is just a submerged log with seaweed on it, or maybe the result of mankind's meddling with nature, but I am certain it is the real deal, as proposed by Theodore Roosevelt in 1907. The selection of available points of ingress are a wonder to behold; the availability of bathroom facilities are more than adequate. The best thing I can say for certain is when my windows get busted in by traveling gypsy punks, there is no location I'd rather rely on. If I ever find it again, please document the...
Read moreSo, I've never really been a fan if this place, even before it changed its name to the dip. I always went to the gay bar, the 501 when I went out for a drink and to dance the night away. My first time going here since it changed to The Dip, was a great experience! I met up with a friend of mine, back at the end of Oct. For a Halloween themed Drag Show, and I had such a great time! It scored some big points for actually hosting this Drag Show, as alot of places wouldn't around here. Showed it was a place that was diverse and supported the entire community here. The bartenders were fast, friendly, and made some dang good cocktails! I can't say much about what it's like as a bar on a regular night, but I'd deffinately go here again when it was hosting another live entertainment...
