I would not recommend this business. My experience is as follows: I wanted to cure a toenail fungus and after research I did not want to go the "normal" route: which is usually that your doctor or dermatologist would prescribe you a very strong antibiotic. All my research brought up very clearly how harsh this treatment is on your liver! Therefore I sought out what was advertised as a treatment comparable in it's ability to effectively treat toenail fungus which is done using a laser treatment. For this reason I was not able to seek treatment from my normal doctor. I had to seek out a facility and Doctor who had such tools (lasers) & which offered said treatment. Coming up with the cash pay for this treatment was by no means an easy feat. That's why in my consultation with the doctor I made sure to verify important issues to myself i.e. one treatment sufficient, and how likely this would treat and cure my fungus. I was told that it's very comparable to said effectiveness of the oral antibiotic course of treatment, very unlikely to need more than one treatment. I somehow scraped together the approx $500, then was stumped to find out the additional topical medication used together with it is just as much (I think more if I remember correctly) and I'd need to come up with that because my Medicaid would not cover it unless the Dr. Could show why another less expensive med. Wasn't first used or couldn't be. Later when I needed a refill (of the medication the Doctor prescribed instead {almost another hundred as I was unable to afford a thousand dollar treatment had I gone w/the other med.} Anyways later when trying to see if I could get Medicaid to pay for the med once more they said no because the provider wasn't covered by them) which was a separate issue to faulting this Dermatologist, what was frustrating was how difficult it was trying to get them to see if Medicaid would cover either medication. I was basically told to make all the calls, however Medicaid wanted to speak to them, duh! I had to plead with them to help me out, they weren't too willing-seemed pretty clear they're used to their clientele having the cash/funds readily on hand. Needless to say it was all a huge waste of time and money down the drain.... It did not heal it, and I followed their instructions to the "t!" Regarding any and all aftercare I had to do. It would have been nice to receive a follow up call to see how my progress and treatment had gone, but that was not so. I believe that they were not truthful in my consultation and that it's NOT ALMOST ALWAYS taken care of in "ONE TREATMENT." I also feel that for the price I paid another treatment or 2 should have been included. It took prob. About 20 min to half hour max.... And the Doctor clearly hadn't done many of these since I got burnt on one go round, literally there were black burn char marks, oooohhh weeeee it was SOOOOOO painful right after until the pain finally subsided!! I just wish the they'd either been more honest in my consultation or actually cared more about the WHOLE TREATMENT, progress thru to it being cured. Even if they wouldn't do more than one laser session at that price, I would think it reasonable to offer any additional necessary laser sessions at some rate we could work together on.....idk you know when you're just there to pay a check or some overhead and when they truly care about what they do, their clientele and in building lasting relationships wherein they truly do their best to help you with whatever you're seeking them out for..... And regretfully they were nothing...
Read moreHaving been a long time client since they were in Crossroads Tower, then Gateway and now the new space, when I was booking an appointment last September I too, as others have remarked, was told I would need a consultation appointment first at a $150 price which would not be applied to any service. When I vigorously disagreed with this having been a long term client, the woman I spoke with agreed to apply this to my service and would make note in my file. Upon having the service and making my payment, I brought up that I should be credited the $150. The person at the desk said there was no notation and that they do not credit the consultation fee. As I was not about to let up on this she finally agreed to look into this and call me later. She did call later and said she found the notation and refunded me the $150. This fee is absurd to add for existing long term clients!!
Several years ago I had the blepharoplasty done. Dr Fisher did the surgery while Dr Taylor assisted. Dr Taylor ended up doing the right eye. I ended up having problems with just my right eye. The eye lid was not closing all the way when sleeping and as a result my eye dryed out and then produced excessive tears all night trying to keep the eye moist. When I revisited Dr Taylor he told me to tape my eye closed at night!! Hmmm, pull out eye lashes, leave tape marks in my face, no thanks! To this day I still have this problem with this eye.
Just last week I had 3 procedures done. One was a repeat of facial laser for promoting collagen. This one was fine. I had scheduled to also have sclerotherapy for spider veins. Whomever I booked the appointment with failed to put this one on the schedule. As a result I had to return home and come back later. I returned and had this procedure, which apparently I was limited to 30 minutes for $1030. As a result many veins were missed so over all not pleased with the outcome. Dr Taylor did this procedure as well as I also had IPL for rosacea on my chin. Upon leaving and getting in my car I had quite a bit of pain on the jawline and upon looking in my car mirror I realized I had a huge blister. I immediately went back and stood outside the employee entrance where I saw Emily (the assistant on the procedures) in the hallway and waved her down. She said she would get some ice but left me standing outside. Someone doing maintenance let me in. Upon her return she had the ice and another woman who did not introduce herself to me but gave me a jar of some cream and instructed me to keep this on the blister and other instructions. To date (9 days) no one has contacted me with any follow up. As a result of the IPL I not only had the blister which amazingly no one noticed and let me walk out of the office, but have a swollen white knob on my chin which has not been receding.
I am so done with Gateway and will never return here again! Their customer service and services have severely dropped and their prices have escalated as I’m sure they need to pay for this...
Read moreI've been waiting to post this review, allowing 4 months+ in healing after having had upper blepharoplasty surgery with Dr. Taylor, as well as laser treatment under my eyes in mid-August of this year. I was warned by a local friend familiar with the SLC area plastic surgery scene, to "go elsewhere" because while Gateway enjoys an excellent reputation for state-of-the-art lasers, Dr. Taylor himself - as a surgeon - "isn't great with eyes" (her quote, unfortunately received one week prior to my scheduled procedure). But after having attended a free presentation (replete with Subway, treats and refreshments), and seeing their rates were lower than other local surgeons, I went through with it, rather than surrender a significant % of my pre-payment. Be aware that they are very strong "up-sellers", convincing me to "add on" the painful, "burning", under eye laser for my few age spots + wrinkles ("it's $1500 by itself, but it's only $500 if you do it with the eyelids."). In the end, to say I'm disappointed is an understatement; in fact, I think my "before" photos of my eyelids are better in appearance than the results I've been left with, and my under eye laser treatment is still very discolored, with a hope that after 4+ months, this "new skin" they promised would regenerate will do so in a way that blends with the rest of my facial skin color. For my eyelids, Dr. Taylor used the laser to cut an incision well outside the outer edges of my eyes, leaving not just scars but noticeable "folds" in the skin. When I went back for my follow-ups, he expressed "well, as we like to say, they're not identical twins... their sisters"(??). My response, "but aren't they supposed to look like they're from the same family"? And when I asked why there was some lingering "droopiness" in one eye only, he said," we have to be sure not to cut enough so you can still close your eyes" - a statement he repeated a few times in my follow-up visits, which might explain the amount of skin excised, but certainly does not explain or justify the asymmetry. Look, he's a nice enough man, but my honest opinion is that he should not be continuing to perform these more invasive/involved surgical procedures at this point of his surgical career. When I initially asked the person in charge of the lasers why she thought he was the right choice for this procedure, she commented on the "precision" with which the lasers cut. But there's still the human factor in deciding how "wide" to cut; and, more importantly, the hand skill needed to properly suture. To say I regret having allowed Dr. Taylor to perform this surgery is an understatement. Buyer beware, and I'd strongly suggest going elsewhere.
And instead of asking those of us leaving poor reviews to "call you to discuss", why don't YOU pick up the phone and...
