My friends and I have been coming to shows at the Complex for over a decade and we have always had a great time. The staff has always been so polite and professional. But tonight, we were treated so unbelievably rudely and disrespectfully by one particular event staffer that I will NEVER go see a concert here again.
The guy running the Premiere seating section tonight had such a bad attitude and was so unbelievably rude and impatient with me and my friend from the moment we walked up to him to buy two seats at one of the tables that I literally couldn't believe it. He was incredibly condescending to me because I didn't IMMEDIATELY understand exactly what he was trying to tell me about the available seating options (because he explained it extremely poorly, for what it's worth). But whatever, it wasn't that big a deal. I just wanted to sit down and enjoy the show.
But after paying THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for two seats at a table, he came up to us midway through one of the opening acts and began to berate me for having the AUDACITY to assume that the $300 I had paid entitled us to the use of the entire (very small) table. As if, by spreading our stuff out over the whole table, we were somehow trying to rip off the venue or something. Apparently, since there are FOUR seats around this tiny little table, and I only paid for two, we were only entitled to use HALF of the table. He never explained ANY of this when we first paid and sat down, mind you.
And just to reiterate, he came up to us and started berating us in the MIDDLE OF A SET, with the band on stage performing at full volume. So naturally I couldn't even hear what he was saying, which only made him become more rude and aggressive, I guess because he thought I was being deliberately difficult. He actually threatened to have us escorted out of the venue! Hey guy, I COULDN'T HEAR WHAT YOU WERE SAYING because there was a band playing at full volume about thirty feet away from me. I'm so very sorry that my confusion and misunderstanding at your impossibly quiet and poorly worded explanation was so very irritating to you.
If he had approached me in a polite manner and didn't expect me to somehow have the superhuman hearing necessary to hear him over the noise of the band, my friend and I would have complied with what he was trying to tell us. But instead, he came at me as if I were some lowlife, as if I were somehow STEALING from the venue by (I think very reasonably) assuming that the THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS I paid entitled my friend and I to the use of - GASP - the ENTIRE TABLETOP.
I have never been treated so poorly by a staffer at a concert - not just at the Complex, but at any venue.
For what it's worth, I'm autistic, and I can sometimes struggle to understand what someone is explaining to me right away. But his explanations were so poorly worded and so aggressive in tone (and again, WE COULDN'T EVEN HEAR HIM) that even my friend, who is NOT autistic, was taken aback at how rude he was being. My buddy went and talked to him separately, and was treated with just as much disrespect as I was.
If you're reading this, guy, you're a real jerk. Everyone has bad days, but your behavior was completely and utterly unacceptable. You should treat your customers/guests with respect and PATIENCE, especially when they have spent THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for the privilege of sitting in your section, and ESPECIALLY when you're trying to talk to them with a band on stage playing at full volume.
I'm a business owner myself, and if I found out that one of my employees treated customers like that, I'd fire him IMMEDIATELY.
I will never see a show at the Complex again. All because of one snippy, prickly, impatient, condescending guy who apparently never learned to treat guests with even a...
Read moreMe and my older sister went to go see Chase Atlantic for the first time last night, and the security was absolutely RUDE. We stood there for a couple of hours in line before the doors opened and when we finally got to the front the security was screaming in everyone’s faces saying how dumb we were and how we couldn’t understand how there were three lines to go to for the security to check us? (We had just got to the front and NOBODY knew what to do they expected everyone to just know there were three lines) and then screamed at everyone cause they somehow didn’t know they were supposed to stop at the trash cans to wait their turn? Nobody told anyone to wait at the trash cans or anything? There were 0 signs on what to do and the security weren’t communicating at all. It made everyone stop what they were doing cause the guy was screaming his head off. Another security guard had to come and tell him to chill out and how people will give them a bad review because he was yelling so much and yup here I am. When I got to one of the security guards to check me he was insanely rude and screaming in my face and not giving me proper instructions then getting frustrated at me which made everything worse, my sister could hear him yelling at me while she was getting checked by another security guard. It made me SO upset, and then we finally got to the stage after waiting for hours and more in line outside, then 20 people in the span of 15 minutes who had just got there PUSHED and SHOVED their way to the front knocking almost everyone down that they ran into. They were always in a group of 5 holding hands and just hitting everyone’s shoulders with theirs and making them move. The TALLEST guy in the room pushed himself from the very back and stood in front of 5 short girls and me (I am 5’7 AND HE WAS TOWERING ME!) the whole night, we tried our best to get around him and we tried to make a window for all the women around this tall guy to be able to see, he had to be 6’5 or something and these women were 5’3 I felt so sad for them. You could see how sad everyone was behind him cause they couldn’t see so I asked him if he could kneel so people could see and pushing his way in front of us wasn’t cool especially since hes so tall, but he didn’t listen and mocked me the whole night to his friend and would stare at me and pretend to try to kneel and then jump to make himself bigger the rest of the night. There was a mom and son behind the tall guy before we were behind him but they ended up leaving 2 songs into the opener because they couldn’t see at all. We weren’t even really in the front we were somewhat in the middle, and we were getting shoved every 5 minutes. I had to ask people to move forward they had a lot of room and the people around me couldn’t move at all, we were pretty squished, and It was insanely hot too in the building once Chase Atlantic had everyone jumping everywhere the fans had to open the exit doors to let the cold air in, even one fan passed out and they had to stop the show to make sure she was okay and the security took her away. By the time they were playing Swim I felt so so lightheaded cause I was squished and it was so hot. Chase Atlantic was SO amazing they just needed a better venue, they got SOLD OUT and you had everyone cramped in this small area? I seriously wish the security and the rude fans would’ve been nicer it would’ve been so much more enjoyable but it was painful. We’ve been fans of them since 2016, I was very sad to see how the fans acted for the first time at a concert, and the security.. very...
Read moreWent here to see Chase Alantic and then BBNO$. The concert was great but the Venue still sucks! For starters I couldn't find a map of the venue ANYWHERE! Not even on their website! I hated this place especially in comparison to other venues. It's a relatively old place and so everything is outdated which ment no air conditioning or heating. The concession stand was super small and old. They DONT take tap to pay only cash and sometimes card. They only have about a few drinks and snacks. Which the food wasn't fresh and heated properly. The concession stand wasn't even open until after the place was crowded and no one could leave their spot. (Which ment those who got early entry couldn't even get water before the concert started.) There's no regulations in the crowd and security was awful. People were fainting because of how crowded and crushed everyone was. But security didn't do anthing and chase alantic had to stop mid way through just to draw attention to security so they'd finally do something! Then there was those getting high and smoking it up right in front security. Despite the fact they made a big deal about how they'll kick you out if you have drugs or are found with a vape before entering. I'm other words, you can easily sneak whatever you want into the venue and security barely checks or does anything about it. I brought a clear bag which they barely checked and then later a regular non clear bag which again they barely checked. Managed to bring my own food and drinks without them noticing. There were a few fights too, which again security didn't do anything about. (This was in the front row right where security was standing!) When they started passing a few waters around cus people were sweating and getting dehydrated, they passed the water bottles without the lid. Which is pretty difficult to pass back in a crowd without spilling all over the place. None of the waters made it back that far without spilling or dropping. They're help for the disabled was just sad. They didn't have anything set in place and all they would do is move you to the very back of the venue if there was a problem. People were loosing their spots. The only benefit they gave to vip was letting them get into the building earlier and thus getting their spot in the front first. (But again they don't open the concessions until the concert starts.) Then when they let everyone else in, they didn't have anything set in place to stop people from just pushing and crushing their way to the front. Even if they weren't vip or got their last. People were getting hurt from others crushing through and some were even crowd surfing. I payed alot more so I could get in early. Only to be crushed and pushed to the back and loose my spot in the front.
The premium sitting is literally on the right side of the room. Away from the stage facing a wall with a tv so you can't really see what's happening in stage. Don't bother paying extra unless your okay with being far from the stage and don't want to get crushed. They offer a table and a seat. (Again only if you payed for premium seats and not for those who are disabled).
In the end I hated the venue and I don't think I'll ever go back to a concert here. There are plenty of other places that are better and take care of their guest. This...
