In April we had purchased two custom rings. We were told it would be two weeks until we had the rings in hand, and one week to come in to test mold sizes. Jean helped us initially and was very kind and personable. She helped us see our visions for the ring. Nelly was also kind and diligent in figuring out what we wanted. We were excited to be working with these ladies. Two weeks went by and we didn't receive any updates so we stopped by the shop to check in. They did not have the materials or the stones nor did they have the CAD drawings or clay models. The reasoning behind the delay was caused by a family emergency. We were understanding and were given a new timeline. Almost 3 months later the rings were finished.
The first ring was finished on June 7th and it was perfect, no issues! The second ring was done the following day and it was inadequate. The ring was ordered as a black diamond with 4 prongs holding it in place and a cathedral type shape around it. The product they brought out did not meet my standards. The prongs were unfinished and Nelly even said “they look like chicken legs.” I was disappointed and Nelly agreed with me that it looked terrible and said they would make a new one. I originally ordered a black diamond but changed my mind after seeing the first version of my ring: a black diamond with no cut/shape, prongs unfinished, and an unpolished finish(see image below). I wanted to change the stone out for a salt and pepper diamond and asked Nelly if that would be possible. She agreed and said that she would order it. After two more weeks the new diamond was never ordered. I told her I was frustrated and wanted to be done so I picked out a dark blue sapphire stone she had in store and said that will work.
Towards the end of June, the ring was finally finished. The second attempt on the ring was much better finished but not what I wanted or communicated. I recognize I changed my mind during the making of the custom ring but they agreed to each change.
During the entire process, I acted as the project manager for Tresor as they were not providing updates or timelines. When a timeline was given, it was random and was never met. Almost three months later we had finished the entire process.
Tresor provided us with three necklaces, a bangle bracelet, jewelry cleaner and a total of 6 rings as compensation for the length of time it was taking. While these additions were nice to have, these were not what we had come to the store for.
I texted Nelly how I was frustrated and unsatisfied with their services after we were done and told her I would be leaving a review. She began to guilt me into feeling bad for leaving an honest review.
While I am grateful that they got one ring right and were genuinely kind people I would not recommend Tresor Jewelers for any custom jewelry. We were respectful and tried to be understanding even though the excuses were never ending. We will only be returning to Tresor for their...
Read moreMy experience with Tresor Jewelers has been incredibly frustrating. I initiated an inquiry on 12/22, with the promise of receiving the item by 12/30 after paying the invoice. However, the timeline quickly unraveled when, on 12/27, I had to call the store to inquire about the missing renderings. This is sentiment to their entire customer relation strategy of not communicating with their clients and putting all the responsibility on the customer to act as a project manager. Tresor couldn't meet their initial promise and rescheduled for the first week of January.
After receiving the renderings on 1/1, assurances of a prompt casting turned into a prolonged wait. Following my call on 1/8, Nelly raised more gold-related questions, despite earlier claims of imminent completion. By 1/9, aware of my proposal date on 1/19, Nelly affirmed timely shipping with picture updates.
1/14 brought no tracking number, leading me to call and Nelly committed to sending the package. However, a call on 1/17 revealed the ring still in the safe; Nelly shipped it later that afternoon amidst a winter storm, causing nationwide delays. Tresor will try to attribute weather to this delay in the comments but there is no excuse since the USPS had been very transparent about the effect on deliveries. Also if they had delivered the package on any of the previous 4 dates they said they would send it, we would have never been in this situation. On the crucial 1/19, after hours of waiting, the ring failed to arrive, impacting my proposal plans. I had paid for our engagement dinner in advance which cost me over $350, but why would Tresor care about this very special moment as long as they get paid right?
The situation worsened on 1/22 when the received ring had the wrong diamond, a significant value difference. They also didn't provide me with the men's wedding band that was included in the engagement ring purchase. Despite promises from owner Sergio for compensation, including $500 via Venmo, a free women's wedding band, and additional gold gifts, my attempts to contact him yielded no response for over a week.
On 1/30, Sergio confirmed the promised items by 2/9, but as of that date, no updates were received. Frustrated, I disputed $1800 with my credit card company on 2/9, covering the diamond discrepancy and the missing men's wedding band. Despite my efforts to maintain cordiality during what should have been a joyous occasion, Tresor Jewelers consistently let me down. Allowing them to reschedule and extending understanding only led to disappointment. Initially, I attributed their shortcomings to disorganization, but it has become apparent that they are disingenuous and negligent. The unresolved issues, unmet promises, and the lack of communication have soured my experience entirely. Regrettably, I will never return to Tresor Jewelers, and I strongly advise against anyone else considering shopping there. If I could give them zero...
Read moreI have known and worked with Nellie and Serge and the entire family and staff at Tresor Jewelers since 2001. They have created the most beautiful custom pieces I have ever seen. I have bought fine jewelery from many places in the United States and internationally, but none are as beautiful and uniquely made just for me as the ones I have purchased from Tresor. The finest custom work I have ever had created for myself and my family has been created by Tresor. Nellie is the heart and soul of the company, she is an artist and a perfectionist, she wants each and every piece she creates to become a beloved heirloom. If it isn't exactly as imagined, she will make it so. Her jewelry is what a fairy god-mother might create for princesses.
My engagement ring and wedding band tracers are perfection itself, and that is just one example of her work. She patiently worked with me putting in one sapphire after another until it was perfect. When the first tracer she made for me was not the color gold I liked, she gave it to me as a gift and made me another one, it was a simple misunderstanding but that is the caliber of person she is. She is honest and honorable. She has worked with many of my family members, and I send all of my friends to her shops. We consider her family and ours friends.
She is also exceptionally generous in her pricing, she has worked with my children on their wedding and engagement rings, and I am certain, she has given them discounts because they are young and starting out and their rings are gorgeous.. I don't know of another jeweler who would extend such kindness to young people.
Her professionalism extends to jewelry she did not create, she has replaced stones on pieces other's wouldn't touch because they weren't theirs. She is a savvy business women who loves what she does.
Tresor is one of the most knowledgeable group of people in the jewelry business, I have ever met. She knows gems, precious metals, and how to create art with them. I cannot say enough about the customer service I have received. I love working with you and value you and your business more than I can say. Tresor will always...
